Removing air con - any tips

Post by Century Motorsport »

Hi, i am forced to remove my air con as is keeps fouling the shroud on my hks i/c. was just wondering if there is anything to be wary of. Obvioulsy removing the hoses off it needs to be carfull but once the pump is off what do i do with those hoses?

thanks,

Nathan

The hoses can just sit there. Mine and my missus ones do. If the A/C is still charged it will need to be de-gassed. Legally this should be done at a proper place.

Try and use a good quality 12mm hex socket on the pump as those bolts are awkward!

i had to remove the pump to get the i/c in but i left the hoses connected so its still full of gas. Is there a safe way i can de gas it. I run a motorsport team so have all the tools, and mechanical knowledge - its just race cars dont have a/c!!

Thanks guys,

Nath

Undo the pipes and be prepared for a loud hissing noise. Don't brethe it in, or get it in contact with any of your skin.
