Windscreens

Need a new windscreen for my 2 to get it through the mot.
Been quoted at various places £600+vat for a bronze tint/import one  , or £114+vat for a UK blue tinter.

So my question is........ is there any difference other than tint colour? cos if not its blue tint time!!!

It will be noticeable in cold weather that your screen is different from the rest of the glass but if you don't mind that, go for it.

it's probably cheaper to get fully comp insurance with windscreen cover, then pay the £50 excess for a new screen...

Sorry, whats wrong with your screen?
If you are fully comp, Autoglass will replace it for you for £50 (excess) with no affect to your insurance!

EDIT: sorry Jim, i just repoeated what you said!

lol, it was autoglass who wanted £650, or £300+vat for a uk screen!!!!!
robbing barstewards............
Cant do it through insurance unfortunately - policy doesnt cover it

So a uk screen will fit? - just be blue?

Yes it will. And yes it will be blue rather than bronze in its tint. You will be able to notice the difference in colour, but it won't be overtly obvious.

The RAC windscreen places have spare bronze ones dotted around the country, you only have to ask... I asked this question so they are about.

DONT SETTLE FOR BLUE!!!
