MR2OC's website and admin is a nightmare

Post by CosmosblueMR2 »

Just wanted to priase IMOC on a great new site - I've been away for a while so I have had to re-apply / register but found it no trouble at all.

Less can be said of MR2OC's website and admin...

I've just sepnt the best part of an hour doggedly battling against their site to let me in !!

ok so I've forgotten my Username - can I find a contact email to ask any mod ? - NO!

I only found an address by going around the houses and emailing some guy in their "shop"..

he's tried to help (give him credit) - but the damn website says my email has already been registered (yes I know that ! ) so send me my "forotten" login name PLEASE ! - ... the admin peeps just say you enter my email address - Errrr no doesn't like that... they then sent me a new password - that's not what was wrong !! arghhhhhhhh :!: :!:

Basically I've given up bothering - wanted to be a "member" (leave it !) of both but am now firmly IMOC only - so much easier to use - WELL DONE ON THE NEW SITE !!!!!!

now where's my glass cleaner - I have MR2OC stickers to remove from my rear side windows !!

anyone else had any problems ? / views - what happened to those thoughts last year of merging all the MR2 websites ? was it panned ?

Sorry didn;t mean to come accross too badly - I'm just a bit stressed at work and the aircon has been down for 3 hours - it's 37 degrees in here !!!

I was being sarcastic about the stickers.. should have put a smiley on the end - ;-)

Glad you are happy with IMOC. We have come a long way in a short time and we have lots more planned...just getting the time to do all the code is the problem.

As for your MR2OC problems, I am sure someone from MR2OC will get it fixed for you. Managing a large and active website can be a headache at times. I would have though a little select statement with a where based on your email would have produced your userid & password for them...but I am sure it just needs to get to the right person on the site to get fixed.

Regards
Esmond

having a moan because you forgot your password and you weren't sorted out in a hour is a but sad to be honest. Expecting a personnel IT service from a site with 3000+ members is a bit well, spoilt child. A lot of company IT services don't sort out problems that quickly.

i know there have been problems posting replies to posts but generally the site runs ok and the folk on there are pretty much the same as you'll find here.

i mostly don't have problems but we all have our issues now and then. Live and let live :bom:

Please try to avoid this being yet another "site X is the best" - at the end of the day you demonstrate which one you prefer by being on it and posting stuff - no need for comparisons, let the traffic and quality of posts do the talking ;)

I'm on most forums but I spend most of my time here and one of the Supra ones, you go where you feel happy - others like the OC, some like the DC - as long as everyone has somewhere it's all good.

Play nice

easy solution is not to use mr2oc then and stop moaning.

Personally i use toc,mr2oc and imoc and i find mr2oc the best sutied to me.

I use both (and save my usernames on both so I don't forget!) lol

I find both are pretty much as equal as each other coming to technical information etc. It just depends if you can be bothered trawling through the posts.

Although I have noticed that when a mechanical problem turns up here, it will turn up on the OC shortly after, so I'm obviously not the only one who uses both! lol
