There are several meets in the NE. Graeme Simpson (gtech) normally organises quite a few. Send him an email and he will add you to the list. The meets tend to die off over the winter as people seem to take their cars off the road. By the end of March you will probably find something going on every couple of weeks. I for one am looking forward to the Lakes outing when the warmer weather is upon us. We were also looking at Kielder and stopping in the Chalets over the weekend.

The Mk1 club meets up at the beginning of each month at the Church Mouse, Chester-le-street and quite a few of the Mk2's meet up with them.

There is also the new JapTuner meet on the first sunday of each month at the Nissan works. I'm sure this will take off and should be a regular for all MR2's as well as other Jap car clubs.

You will probably find quite a few outings to Elvington (York) drag meet from the NE as soon as the weather improves and TOTB draws near.

Yep, mk1 club at chester le street often gets mk2 owners coming along and they're a friendly bunch too. Haven't been to any other north east meets mainly because I'm not using the car regulary at the moment, but I'll probably have a look down to teeside with JJ and the others once I'm happy using it on the road.

The mk1 club will have it's monthly meeting at Chester le Street on the first sunday of the month, there are usually other people there too (at least me in my guise as TwoBrutal and IMOC member plus other mk2 owners).

Regarding the North East meeting, I e-mailed Mac Sheavils as to whether the Church Mouse meet is on, Sunday March 4th and he has confirmed it is. No doubt he will be starting a thread about it. I think the time is 11.30am, so everyone can go for lunch at the CM!! Look forward to going this time. See you there!! =D> \:D/ =D>

The Church mouse one, is at 11.30am. The Nissan one, is 2pm onwards. Surely, with a fast car, they could both be done on the same day, as there is not too much distance between the meets? :-k

Yep, and it starts at 2pm probably a bit later as the summer gets here. So it could be Church Mouse for meet, then a spirited drive to Nissan. A convoy of MR2's turning up together

Edit: Brilliant minds think alike Caroline

yep you guys are more than welcome to organise your monthly meets at nissan as i have already pm a member of your admin staff about this

just to let you know

1st I would like to thank all that came to our 1st meet in February, by the end of the day we saw well over 150 japanese cars roll through the gates.

Our next meet is at the same venue
Nissan Sports and Social Club
Washington Road
Sunderland
SR5 3NS
the meet will begin at the same time of 2pm

please check our forums at www.japtuner.co.uk
for updated information on this and all of our club meets

just to confirm that the social club IS open for us to use the licenced bar/lounge area for drinks, food and a place to get out of the cold.

all cars are welcome to attend but non jap cars will be asked to park away from the meeting point (but only at the other end of the car park)

we look forward to seeing you guys there and thank you for your support

Looks like I will be going to Redcar to pick Loz up so I will meet up at Teeside and show you the way. You cant go wrong with Nissan as it is straight up the A19 a few miles before the Tyne Tunnel and is clearly signposted. If aiming to get to Church Mouse for 11:30 then should leave Teeside by 10:45. Where abouts at Teeside do you meet?

Just to confirm the meeting at the Church Mouse is definately on Sunday March 5th @ 11.30am.

Come of the A1 at junction 63 and follow A167 towards Durham, its on the left just after the railway bridge.

The plan is to leave the Mouse around 13.30pm and head off to Nissan for the Jap meeting.

Should be a good day.

Cheers
Michael
