General wheels question!

Sorry for the slight vast nature of this post before I start.

I slapped on some new (to me) wheels at the weekend and I knew I had to have them properly weighted and aligned but they felt okay and drove about a bit. Then I noticed that they were pretty damn all over the place!

Anyway, few things. Firstly, my lug nuts! Below are pics I took this evening of them currently on...

As you can hopefully see the lug nuts don't screw on completely - not sure if this is correct? They came off my old Momo alloys so no idea of they're standard Toyota ones or aftermarket. I want to make sure the ends (tapered) are correct for my wheels - are they? If not, what do I need?

Secondly as I was reversing on full lock down a small slope I felt pretty much 2 bumps from the front of the car like I had rolled over 2 big bricks - at first I thought my wheels had come off but checked and lug nuts were done up tight. Anyway I carried on my way. I then remembered the guy who sold me the wheels gave me 4 plastic rings, I've been told they're hubcentric rings and I need them on there - what is the result of not using them? I'm sure my Momos didn't unless they were properly stuck into the wheel! Do I need to put these on all 4 wheels? Is this why my wheel was kinda bouncing/bumping as I was on full lock reversing?

My next point is obviously I need to get the wheels balanced and have a 4 wheel alignment - when having a laser 4 wheel alignment is there anything I need to request 'specially'? The car is a 1992 rev 2 turbo and has been lowered on standard shocks (Bilsteins) 35-40mm on Pi springs. Someone mentioned to ask for 1 degree of toe in?

Finally - what are the best tyre inflations to use? My wheels are 16".

Thanks for any replies - I really AM a wheel newbie! I firstly wanted coloured lug nuts, then realised that if I had them then the silver locking nuts would look out of place so I've decided to just go with standard silver unless anyone else has a good idea, ie anyone that sells a full set of coloured lug nuts with locking nuts - if not, suprised why companies don't do that???

Hya Lib,

First of all those wheels look like they have a countersunk recess for the nut to screw into..so you seem to have the correct nuts for those wheels. (original Toyota wheels need wheel nuts with flat washers built into them). However you dont have long enough studs fitted because with those type of wheel nuts the studs should protrude through the nuts by at least a cpla threads. DONT DRIVE ANY FURTHER WITH THOSE NUTS FITTED. It's likely you could lose a wheel. IT IS F**KING DANGEROUS THE WAY IT IS AT THE MOMENT. Get some replacement longer studs fitted.
The Hubcentric rings are required if the hole in the centre of the wheel is bigger than 60.1mm dia as MR2's rely on the fit of this bore to the hub to centralise the wheel.

It's not the wheel nuts that are the problem Lib, the studs are too short for those wheels..you need to source some longer studs and fit them to your hubs instead. The wheelnuts you have will then fit properly.
