is it worth repairing?

my MK2 rev1 tubbby T-bar has died. (pic on profile) needs gearbox and engine.

to fix or not to fix? that is the question. it's going to cost 2-3k. even though i never had any intention of parting with it, people are telling me to get rid. :(

If your happy with the car you have got and feel that it would be worth it then do it. If its gona haunt you with parting with the cash then dont.....some things have to be done so either way depending on yourself it would be the right thing to do.

good luck with your decision mate :|

2-3k HOW MUCH!!!!

are we just talking about engine work or have you crashed it? if not What could possibly be wrong that costs that much? I have an engine for sale in the for sale section plug plug :)

I can probably get hold of a gearbox as well for you if thats all you need to get it going again and would be happy to fit it for you at a reasonable rate if your interested and can get the car to me up in the north east

cheers

you need to change garages then :)

if its just a engine and box required then fitting you should easilly get that for about 1000-1200.

its only a 1 to 1.5 days labour and you can get and engine and box for about 600

maybe his car has slightly more damage than we know about?

cheers

no damage! just the LSD was already on the way out so i need a box as well.

i got a quote for a company to recon my engine and box for 1450. is this too much?

apparently it'll cost at leasta grand to have a garage take the engine out and put it back in.

anyone on the isle of man that wants to help is more than welcome lol :D:D:D
