Selling up, but need some advice !!

Post by Marc »

To quickly answer the question of why, I got caught at 2½ times the speed limit. Nuff said, yes I know I'm stupid. I've learnt my lesson.

But.. I have to sell up, trouble is I have £1500 worth of ICE install and £1000 worth of wheels & tyres. Do I..

a) Sell it as is and make (presumably) a huge loss on what I've spent
b) Strip it back to standard and sell for a normal price, flogging the bits separately?

I know the second option is probably the most sensible (albeit much more effort on my part) but if there's someone out there willing to actually pay over the odds for a pretty fine install & wheels then I'd rather not have to go through all that. And yes, I know I won't get what I paid for the ICE & wheels, but surely it increases the value of the car enough?

What do y'all think?

sell the bits separate, you'll make more money that way although it will still likely be a loss.

What speed were you doing?

75 in a 30. Crazy I know, but it was just for a moment - I toe'd it after getting cut up at a roundabout. Next thing I know, blues & twos in the rear-view.

Thanks m8 - that was taken whilst on the DCDezign stand during JAE 2004 last summer. It's had hydraulic bonnet struts fitted since then, along with a front-end respray and grill-mesh. Looks even tidier now. I will cry when she goes, I'm not afraid to admit that.

75 in a 30, Jeeesus!!!!!

Sell up quick and buy a push bike!! :D

Fair play to you though, you've admitted it was crazy, lesson learned etc.....

Re selling up, it depends how quickly you need the money I suppose.
As allan said, you'll get a better return if you strip the car and sell it as standard  and sell the mods seperately.
