Dash Help

Post by Ed209 »

Hi all,
I've posted this question before..but im going to try and give it a go this wkend.
Basically, whoever has had my car beofre has used a cheap stick on mobile fone holder to the dashboard, I peeled it off and theres some hardcore gunk on the dash now..about (1.5" x 1.5" sq) of solid glue.
I know you can buy adhesive remover but i didnt want to damage the dashboard even more ...just wondered if anyone else has had to do this..

Thanks
Ed

There must be somethin out there you can use to dissolve the glue and not damage the dash, not sure what though. How about just heating the glue up with a hairdryer and see if it will come off that way?

Agree with Robbie, hairdryer all the way, altenatively if there is a trimmer (seat trim shop) near you then they tend to have adhesive removers which are "kind" to leather/vinyl etc.....

acetone's pretty good too but test it first somewhere its not noticable just in case it takes the colour.

Try some Armour All interior spray - that seemed to clean the inside of the two well. If the pads are well baked on, I'd warm them up with a hairdrier before trying the Armour All or any other cleaning spray.
