Thats harsh, I hope you kept all correspondence, if so and they won't give your money back register on every Japanese car owners club and tell the full story, they can't do anything about it if its all true and you have proof. Properly pee them off & prevent it happening to someone else.

Nooo, dont get me wrong, i think that really sucks what has happened to him.
Its not good, and its reminding me of all the things i was thinking whilst my car was "en route".
Its a poo thing to happen, and i wish you all the best in getting it into A1 shape.

About 3%.

Dunno, there's no way to tell. If all its 29k miles have been spent sideways, and it's been outside for it's whole life, then it could be genuine mileage.

The bit under where the spare wheel sits looks like a 20 year old Toyota Hilux.... .god knows what's been going on in there.

I'd probably be tempted to get legal Jon, if the 'goods' aren't as advertised / agreed then the contract you've entered is void.

You payed a premium price for a premium car, the least they could do is adjust the cash paid out to reflect it's actual value. Given the profits presumably taken by Daie and JDI as a result of you buying this car they should do some serious PR at this point in time and sell it to you at cost (or as near to as possible).

All in my opinion, not that of IMOC, YMMV

It's not actually worn, just damaged (and faded). Holes drilled or cut out for things, scratches/marks on things, things snapped etc..

It's actually got some rust

Never seen that before on an import.

I'll have a close read of my contract...

I paid Daie Motors 675,000 yen for the car, and out of that they're supposed to make £500, the other ~£3k should be what it cost at the auction.

I'm beginning to think that Daie Motors deliberately gave me dodgy photos, knowing full well the car was as it is, and that it probably went for peanuts in the auction, with them pocketing the cash. I've no way of knowing what they actually paid for it though, although I've asked Julian to find out.

It's had the front wing, rear wing, rear bumper and bonnet resprayed over here.... god knows what it looked like before JDI's bodyshop 'cleaned it up'.

I presume you didn't meet it at the ship and drive it off yourself then Jon? Someone responsible for the car presumably saw it first and considered it to meet the specifications given to you?

This is shocking, hope you get it all sorted asap - maybe you and Rev3 cars aren't meant to be :(

so at best the mileage is correct but the car has done 27k as a race car and as such been driven hard to say the least  ,or the 27k is a figure made up to suit your request of a low mileage example :?:

No, didn't get to meet it at the ship... if I had I'd have pushed it overboard...

Not sure who actually picked it up.

Think you're right, I'm not meant to have a Rev3. I want my Rev1 back, best car I ever owned, and won't find another one that good.

The mileage was on the auction sheet, so was disclosed prior to Daie Motors getting the car.

Should have gone with Miguel at Newera.

I am very sad to hear this as I purchased my car through Julian almost 4 years ago. It was in great condition then, exactly as expected, and still is. It is also a Daie Motors car. I am one of the people on these forums that recommends Julian's services and credibility. Please keep us updated with the outcome.

Took 6 months.... was 8 weeks late leaving Daie Motors (as they were swapping the suspension to make it perfect), held up 4 weeks in customs, then xmas holidays etc..

Thing is, the suspension they fitted was dangerous, to the extent that the garage doing the MOT swapped it again for a completely different set.

Thanks Tony. I think that's the problem. 4 years ago, there were lots of good cars available in Japan. Now, all the good ones have already been shipped, and all that's left is the rest.

Julian kept saying yesterday that if I'd bought a Rev4, then I could have got a mint car... If I'd been told before hand that there are no or few decent Rev3's left, and that all I'd get is the ragged stuff, then I'd have paid more for a Rev4 or even a Rev5. Julian knows my history with MR2's and really should have done more if he even slightly suspected I might be getting a dodgy car.

This reminds me of a Rev 3 tubby I nearly purchased a few years back. From the picture on the 'specialist' dealer's website, the car looked amazing and had one hell of a spec.
I was in discussions with the dealer for some time before taking a look at the car with my own eyes.
The car was a wreck. It had interior panels missing, interior plastics cracked, one alloy was totally different to the other three, the worst fading I've ever seen (red car), and someone had clearly tried to get into the car at some point with a screwdriver. The one redeeming feature was an amazing engine/power specification.

Thank god I walked away, despite the dealer asking me to leave a credit card deposit a few days previous.
Mk2 NA Rev1 -*- Mk2 Turbo Rev2 -*- Mk1 NA -*- Mk2 Turbo Rev 3 = all gone!

Julian has replied to my (large) list of problems, and has offered to provide me with replacement parts for most of the damaged or missing items.

He's also written a (very good) e-mail to Daie Motors explaining the situation, telling them off, listing the problems, and asking them to refund me some money...

I shall hold my breath.......
