front wing brackets needed

Post by alfiembra »

Anybody got a pair of these brackets in good nick? They are the connecting bracket between the plastic bumper cover and the front edge of the front wings.

Also looking for various nuts and hex head self tapping screws for fixing the wings, front bumper cover and side skirts back on

Preferably looking for good condition ones if possible, I've already got a bucket full of rusty chewed up ones.

Thanks

You can buy these from Toyota. I paid £20 for the 2 sides !!!!!! I ordered them at Hamilton branch on the Monday, and had them by the Wednesday.

I didnt bother buying new ones, cut the bent threads, and drilled a hole and used A4 stainless steel bolts with A4 stainless nyloc nuts... I'd add a picture of how i did it but cant figure this site out but I did a short write up here... http://www.mr2oc.co.uk/index.php?name=F ... ic&t=24551

Good tip drilling out the old studs, never thought of that. Doh! The one in the picture I'll do that but the other side is totally wasted so need to source a passenger side one somewhere.

Thanks for the replies

Alot of mine were rusted away so i just made new ones(unless you're a weight obessed trackfreak) from flat steel bar, if you need it to bend its easy enough to bend with some heat applied...

I am currently replacing my front end and these three bolts each end were the only ones I had to grind off. The metal brackets were completely corroded and just crumbled away.

I have seen metal strips in Halfords (usually used for custom stereo placement) with M6 holes spaced out along the entire length. Cut to suit and fit with new stainless bolts. Or get some galvanised iron from a DIY place, cut and drill to suit. either way Bob's you uncle

Thanks again for the tips and ideas. I think I can salvage one side but I'll get creative and cobble something together for the other.
