MK1 Club Midlands Monthly meet ***PICS***

NEXT MEETING SUNDAY 28th JANUARY 2006 at 11am at The Charnwood Arms, Beveridge Lane (just off A50 / J22 M1), Bardon Hill, Nr Coalville, Leicestershire.



The Charnwood Arms is situated beside the A511 between junction 22 of the M1 and the town of Coalville.

From the M1 or Leicester take the A511 towards Coalville. The hotel is located close to the second roundabout after the motorway. Take the B585 (Ibstock) exit from this roundabout. The hotel is facing you and the entrance is about 100 yards on the right.

From A42/Coalville follow the signs towards the M1 south. The Hotel is situated on the right hand side about two miles down the A511. Exit the A50 at the second major roundabout and follow B585 towards Ellistown/Ibstock.

Midlands Monthly Meet – Charnwood Arms

The first monthly meet of the year for the midlands area certainly blew away the cobwebs, as we all gathered on a very fresh cold morning. Despite the chill, a good turnout of 9 MK1’s made it to the Charnwood Arms: 1 MK1a, 1 MK1sc, and 7 MK1b’s =D> =D> =D>

Doris gave us a special treat to beat the chill with her special Glühwein and Stollen. =D>
We caught up with what car bits we had tinkered with over the christmas period: Chris had fitted a manual choke override this MK1b, I had just got my Koni adjustable shocks and lowering springs fitted to my MK1b, and Garricks’ MK1a had been treated to new front wings and front valance. Tom gave us a giggle with his ‘special’ leaky T-bar ‘fix’.

The Midlands Classic Car Club also meets up at the same venue, and saw the arrival of a Green Goddess that had just been bought by one of their members.
