Elvington - Saturday 4th Feb - Trackday

Theres a trackday soon at Elvington... Its mainly a 200sx day... but I'm going along in the white MR2 T.. there should be a couple more for some trackday antics.

This thread is posted here to inform people if anyones interested in a run down from teesside to Elvington or meet up at elvington, then stand around in the freezing cold suppin coffee !!!

I will have a passenger seat available throughout the day for those that want a quick thrash around a coned track in an MR2 turbo .. it won't be blindingly quick as I'll be turning the boost down mainly for endurance .. but its the whole handling, defying gravity experience into corners ... try to get a few of you licking windows and brown trousered by the end of day ... unless its subzero temperatures and I'll be bringing a spare pair of shorts myself !!

More details posted later for meeting times... depending on no. of interests !

There will be a guest appearance of Mr. Steven Cordiner too ... he's actually going to abuse the Lotus handling Proton around the track !

You will notice the remarkable similarities in the old chalkstick he drove to my white mr2 too !

I'm booked on this too, (black rev 3 turbo L152 ***) my first track day
I'll be going with a couple of mates from the 200SXOC, if anyone fancies giving me some advice on the day, or just saying hi that'd be great.
Seen some vids of Elvington and it looks pretty safe, not much to hit except cones. I'll be taking a spare pair of undercrackers just in case though

You should have fun.. the tracks very abrasive ... superb for cornering .. all depends if theres snow on it though !!

Adam_b will be there too. We co-owned a mk1 track car which has just recently died. We'll be in his silver corsa on the day.

Lee, you and Adam are in for some scary ass passenger rides I'll be there with Graham from Top Gear and a few other 200sx guys so there should be plenty of passenger seats to go round.
Added to that, it's my first track day, and I have a really poor sense of direction So if I get to the end of the runway heading for a tree I'll know I've gone wrong somewhere
