Waiting by the scene to direct the emergency services would've been best bet, maybe even flag down motorists to find a first aider if you're not one yourself, could mean the difference between life and death.

I've witnessed 2 nasty crashes over the years, one car was driving way too fast and flipped on a very large kerb (paving slabs set at a high angle)and landed on it's roof, driven by a drunk it turned out - also saw a little Austin Mini lose control and smash straight into a large tree at ~50mph (country lane), the mini was a complete fireball after about 60 seconds, turns out the driver had stolen it.

have to agree hear andy, must have shaken you up a bit but are you saying you just left the scene when you may have been able to help? there may have been someone dying in that car :?

Was going to post something along the lines of "Every cloud has a silver lining..." but decided against it as the thief probably got out in time

Assuming hes not a paramedic what could he have done that others couldnt?

I personally wouldn't of driven off.

I've been a passenger in a car that rolled and nearly nobody stopped. I had to get out of the car and flag down traffic who just looked at me bemused and said we can't do anything.
Eventually found someone with a phone so I could get through to the emergency services...

Why don't people stop and help anymore?! Its beyond me.. every accident I've witnessed I've stopped and hleped out at and then given statements to the police there and then. Also I've stopped at the side of the road to help people who's cars break down and help them push it to a safer place.

But I really hate people who just drive away at an accident (esp. if they are there before the emergency services and if no other cars are there)

Even if you're not a paramedic you can comfort the people in the car who are injured, or even help get them out if they are trapped. It doesn't take a while to examine a crash scene where you can get others to safety.

Well hope your football match was ok and that the driver didn't die as I know I would feel very bad if that was the case.

But nowadays no-one gives a s*** apart from themselves! Which is just a sorry state of affairs, but at least you know that if I drive by a car that you're in that has crashed I'll stop and help if no-one else will!

Provided a Witness Statement, he may have noticed something someone else may have missed ... ... .

Not reporting an accident you witnessed is not an offence, reporting an accident you were involved in is.
However, i still dont understand why you didnt stick around, football can wait for another day....if a car rolled three times, then someone will be injured....i only hope that the people in the car are alive to tell the story.

Define chav, someone in lesser car than yours? .. some people need to get there heads out there ar$e, this forum has gone to pot over the years I'm sorry to say .. you telling me you've never taken a corner over the speed limit ... I put £1000 down that there is not one person who owns a license has taken a corner faster than they should have ...

It's just unfortunate someone has to post it and everyone jumping on the bandwagon.

Hopefully, no matter whether they be chav or not, they got out okay.

I had a Clio roll in front of me on a track day at Bedford autodrome, and it survived fairly well considering the speed!
