black rev 1/2 turbo with external wastegate - teeside park

Post by paul_h »

saw a black rev1/2 with 5/6 spoke alloys, looked like spit rims, park up over teeside park. Then pulled off, nailed it through 1st......looked quick, sounded even quicker.

Definately had an external wastegate. Also idle sounded rough, possibly had a set of cams?????

anyone here.

i was gonna pop over and say hi :)

looked quick like, id def say ya had the power :P

was a good guess that the car had cams too :)

could tell on the idle as it was a bit higher than normal and slightly lumpy.

i was in the almera gti parked next to ya :)

Come and chat later sarah ... enigma-performance.co.uk down on snowdon road ( no sign post yet doh !! ) but bottom of the road on the right hand side.... new blue and bricked lockup with the shutters open... peter being the contact ... does a lot of work on MR2's ( with me too ! :D )

I'll be showing up in my white mr2 with white wheels... though the weather suggests its ruddy brown !

See you all later ! if anyone shows up !!!

Can't really post values on here sarah ... site rules .. but a routine service is usually around 100 bananas including top quality oil and new filters + additional parts if required .. like pads and stuff !

Cheers JJ, just wanted a rough idea of what price to expect, as i've never had to have a car serviced  So i'll probably pop round in the next few weeks

Not sure what time i'll be able to get down for tonight, might be a bit later on... but i'll try show my face!

Was a good night :) Nice to see some more faces!

Was abit slippery on the slip road and coming off that roundabout tho!! JJ taking advantage of the slippery roundabout which was entertaining from infront lol

I found the problem on my car, the pipe from the turbo outlet to the hot pipe had split completly from top to bottom, not around the circumference which i was shocked by, thats a 3ply samco hose aswell!

I was boosting 1-1.1bar by my controller, first time it has driven without a misfire, so im not complaining, at least its only a piece of pipe!

Hope everyone got home safely!
