My 2 'keyed' badly... what to do??

Someone has keyed my car all the way from the front light cluster, across wheel arch, over door, across back wheel arch to the spoiler on the back!! But didn't stop there.. carried on underneath spoiler and then kicked my wheely bin over... F**KER !!!!!!

Are there any products that will cover this up (Like a thicker version of T-Cut or something)

Please don't tell me I'll have to have the car resprayed!

I don't think my insurance will be valid as I usually have it parked on the driveway! (furious isn't the word)

**** . I honestly can't see you getting away with T-Cut or a rubbing compound. It will have to be resprayed....

As for the insurance, i take it you didnt have it on your drive when the incident happened? well just lie and tell them you did!

If you can see the metal underneath the paint (silver) then its a spray job. Where are you, as I know someone who can do sprays for very cheap.

Call Chips Away or a similar company near you.

They should be able to sort it out with out the need for a respray.

What a complete and utter F****r. Why are there so many mindless idiots walking the streets these days? How deep the scratches are depends on wether your gonna need a respray. If the scratch is deep, i.e. you can see the undercoats/primer underneath, an abrasive polish will be of no use because you will have rub so much paint off the surrounding area in order to get 'level' with the scratch, and hence you'll hardly have any paint left. If its light scratching - a good, abrasive cutting compound will work (NOT T-CUT - its pants. Use Farclea G3 buy hand, and finish off with MER).

If it is deep, you could try repeatedly touching in the scratch by using a thin brush dipped in paint. After about 10 applications, when the scratch is 'filled', use the aforementioned G3 and Mer to cut it back and get the surface level.

Otherwise a respray may be on the cards, but hey, at least you will have a new-looking car...

as above: if you can see the metal then its a respray! i have heard (i mite get this wrong as i heard this a long time ago) that you can touch up the scratch using those touch paint jobbies and afterwards buff with G8 Compound (tuff stuff)- its not a perfect finish but a cheaper alternative to a respray.... and by the sound of things the fcukers have made a right mess!

Yes, it can be done - ive done it many times with good results. But like most things it takes a bit of practice to perfect. You need to let the touch in paint dry a bit so its nice and thick so it doesnt run, then apply it. wait about an hour for each application to dry, then apply again. When the scratch is filled, wait preferably 2 weeks for the paint to harden, then cut with G3, then finish off with the finer polish like MER.

I have a set of those Astral black brush applier thingy's from Hellfrauds which I have applied once, will do more coats asap.
Never heard of FARCLEA G3?
I never polish my car with anything but MER (great Stuff)

Its Farecla G3----most good car bits dealers will stock it.Comes in a tube and is much better than T-cut.

What possible enjoyment do they get from doing that to someones car? its usually jealousy if you dont have enemies....cant believe they did that to your car mate.
I had my first car keyed, it was a beetle and show standard so some jealous little xxxxx at college ran they key across the roof ! cheers then.

I checked this insurance situation with my insurers (Elephant) as my car is covered as usually kept in garage but obviously isn't always. They said do not worry it will still be covered if something happens when it is not kept in the garage as we cannot expect it to always be stored that way. Apparently they just want to know where it is kept the majority of the time.

Give them a call and ask, may be worth it? Hope this helps.
