[Mk2 Turbo] Rev 1 Speed Sensor

Post by thebutler »

Hi people,

Anyone know where this is on a Rev1 if it exists, as the speedo is mechanical. I want to take a signal for my Blitz MSTT turbo timer, and will also need id for my AVCR when it arrives?

TIA

The speed sensor wire/pinout will be shown on the diagrams that come with the AVCR.

Unfortunately my scanner is knackered otherwise I would have posted diagram for you.

Take the front panel off your ecu, there you will find all the pinouts labelled on the pcb where the pin meets, look for (spd) this is for the speed signal and you can splice into the wire that comes from this.

The speed sensor is a magnetic switch in the speedo head itself, driven by the speedo cable. Look at where the speedo cable goes into the instruments and you'll see two screws, the top one is the signal and the other is ground (marked SE).
