Not sure...estimates are futile :D

I do know TCs of a lesser spec make 300+bhp, which I think could be quite mental in a MK1!

Forgot to add
Cusco oil catch can
DLI ignition
Pace radiator

Rest of car?
AP brakes
Leda double adjustable gas coilovers
Sparco seats, harnesses
Lots of custom touches...

Sounds like it'll be a superb toy! Is this aimed at being primarily a track day car :)

Sounds superb Toni, easily 300whp.

Look forward to seeing it, will it be ready for JAE?

He he ... yeah as the rusted rear panel falls off and lies by the side of the road :D lol

On a more serious note, it should be a beast !!

No rust on my baby I can assure you, it had a bare metal respray only 2 years ago! Being an import it wasn't even rusty then... :!:

I am seriously hoping it will be ready and running by May time. TOTB contender perhaps, depending on whether or not I'm a crap driver, LOL.

Cool, sounds like it is and is going to be a cherished mk 1!

TOTB contender ... well get yourself to a drag way over the spring time and see what the beasty can do :D I'd be expecting 11's from it!

We'll see.

I managed a 15.55 from my 180bhp 'normal' SC, fully loaded with aircon and with a gallon of petrol/tools and spare on board!

This car will be considerably lighter in some ways (seats, some CF and no aircon) but the engine will obviously be heavier...and a lot more powerful. The great thing is there is boost instantly...so you can rev the nuts off at a standing start! I'd be disappointed if it didn't let's just say that!

It should be totally different to the old SC, the weight it has added is in the right place, just infront of the back wheels. The turbo, cams etc will add loads more torque as will the stroked displacement. I'd say a tuned mk 1 tubby would be more comparable :)

The engine weight gained from the work done will probably be about the same as the weight lost from removing the A/C system, plus you'll have a few HP back from losing the A/C IYSWIM.

Are you going to put a fidanza flywheel on it as well?

Thought about it, though I bought it with a stainless custom flywheel.

fantastic toni! cant wait to see this thing at JAE2005....i gonna drag mine too, would be a hoot to compare them side by side up the strip..and a mk1 turbo for good measure!

1.6 twin charger v 3.0ltr v6 turbo v 2.0ltr turbo mk1, now that i have got to see!

Are there any ongoing issues with controlling the boost overlap? how exactly is the set up configured,i mean if the SC is boosting from the word go then surely that pressure will be fighting against the turbo compressor and impedeing that spinning? how is that controlled? fascinating conversion though, hats off to you.

Where are you planning to get it mapped and setup?

Great stuff Toni, its been a long time!

Answering Paul's question about how the TCing works;

Basically the SC will operate to a given rpm then will be disengaged at the point the turbo has spooled up, so they won't run together so as to speak but obviously there is always overlap as the turbo builds up pressure. IIRC there is a valve that operates in the induction piping that gets around the problem of both blowers working against each other.

Its pretty complex tbh and the parts for all this are mega rare. Toni of course has all the necessary bits.
