Dont see many g60's about though.

Would go for the vr6 personally though.

If only you'd look at what kinda displacement VW needs to get that kinda power i'd say it's rubbish.

put g60 engines into lots off other vws too,,,

my mate has an immaculate g60, its no supercar but has got amazing mid range.
so much torque.
very nice cars! also ive heard the vr6 engine is just a bit too heavy, the smaller g60 helps wiv handling???

I had alot of experience with the whole Golf VW scene a few years ago.
If your goin to get a Corado The Storm model is the only choice here as the car is fairly heavy.
Plus the interior is more plush, leather etc.

Just a thought
Reece.

Driven a VR6 carrado and thought it the most overrated car ever, remined me of my old Audi 80 Avant, felt like a barge and my old n/a MR2 would out drag it.
The G60's even slower.

They do look quite cool in an 80's barge kind of way passat/golf mixture if you like that sort of thing.

Mates got a G60, just had the SC upgraded at Jabba.
Handles superb but the torque is ridiculous.

In the wet you cant put your foot down in 2nd, it just wheel spins on the spot.

Re: vw corrado g60?
One of my mate's got a G60 and he's spent about 4k on the engine including AVCR, turbo conversion, uprated pistons, etc and i wasted him in my standardish Rev 2 tubby!

I've always liked the way they look but like most VWs they're not really that powerful and they're quite heavy.

Re: vw corrado g60?
As a matter of fact, I own both cars.

My G60 has 327.000 Km
(yes, it's well written!) and still on the original engine, clutch AND supercharger! with no oil consumption, or other problems whatsoever except for some light tap from the hydraulic lifters on cold start.

The MR2 has 96.000 Miles and has just been rebuilt from a blown headgasket.
I took the opportunity to fit JE forged pistons, ARP studs, lightening/ballancing the bottom end and polishing the intake and exaust ports.
The turbo was also rebuit by Turbotechnics.
It's still being run-in.

Before the MR2 disaster, both were very quick, but the MR2 got the
"turbo rush", feels torquier from low RPM, it has a much more sensitive throtle pedal.
However, if you maintain the G60 between 4000 and 6000 it is as fast as
(or at least it was) the MR2.
Both have a very stiff chassis and turn in very well.

The G60 feels like a big heavy engine(with 3000 cc's or more) while the MR2 feels lighter and revvier.

They´re both excellent cars to have.
I won't sell any of them!

Re: vw corrado g60?
is the G60 the type of engine?

My mate has a golf rally
(spelling?) witha 1.8 superchraged engine, and 4 wheel drive.
Im sure he said it was a g60 engine.

Had a brand new supercharger on, supposed to be about 160hp?

And I must say, it was terrible slow in my opinion.

Never been in a corrado, thought the biggest was the vr6 versions which are not bad.

You must have tried a knackered one then, as a standard VR6 will blow away any standard NA MR2.

Reecey690, the Storm is just a run-out special edition, it's no different technically from a normal VR6, except for unique colours and some badges

Trickster, the G60 is the 1.8 supercharged engine, the VR6 is a 2.9 narrow angle V6

They're fantastic cars, one of the sweetest engines in one of the best FWD chassis

Agreed

They would kill an N/A 2 and a standard rev1/2 tubby wouldnt be to far in front.

So what if it take's 3000cc to do it.
