i have a mk rev 2 mr2 turbo with a toad ai606 on it
the alarm works i.e i mean the lights flash but the siren just does not sound or chirp when the alarm is going off.
pritty sure its gonna be the siren but does any1 have any light they can shed on the situation before i take it to garage for them to charge me earth, if i just need a siren then i wll buy and install myself.
cheers guys
I am having the same problem with my scorpion alarm. I checked to see if asny fuses had gone but couldnt see any blown, but may not have been looking in the right place. I dont want to have to dig out the control module and finbd that there is no fuse on that either. Looked at the siren and there seens to be quite a few wires going to it so not sure how easy it would be to just replace that!
In a second mind to blow respray savings on a new alarm. My sorpion has been problem after problem!
I have this exact same alarm. If i recall you can set the alarm to a silent setting. Pretty pointless eh! Does your alarm fob have the 4 green and black buttons? There is a certain sequence when you press them to get silent chirp etc. Do you have the manual?
yeh i have the manual. i read through and you are right there is a silent mode but i only think it is the arm and disarm that is silent not the actual siren when its set off. i do have the same fob as you mate.if you need the installation manual or user manual i have both.
damn alarm is pointless without sounding!!!!
suppose im gonna have to pay someone to sort it.more of the green stuff!!!!

Not a usual fault Toad is very good was the alarm on when you got it or did you have it fit
If you had it fit it has warranty .
Or do you know where control box is could be a wire out of siren multiplug
Get back to me

hi there mate.
i bought the car a few weeks ago and the alarm was already fitted. i have the reciept for it being fitted but dont think that will make much difference.
im sure everything is working as it should be apart from the siren.if there was no 12volt feed to the siren would this problem happen or do the sirens have thier own battery??
lookin at the wirin diagram theres a +12v 0v and two signal wires going to the siren thats it.
do you know where the brain would be placed in an MR2 just so i kinda have an idea where to look saving ripping the whole dash apart.
cheers!!!

Listed for the clicking that wiil tell you
siren has as you sat 12v earth digital signal wire and bonnet wire
Cut into loom carefully to siren re wire is 12v check you also have earth
One will be earth with mid panel open push switch in to see earth drop away and other will show no signal if all there siren is US
if one is missing trace back to control box and test there

Ok cut away sheathing and red wire will be 12v you will also find an earth should be on the green wire if mid panel switch is not connected you will get no reading on the brown wire
Yellow wire is data signal
