Removing / Replacing TOYOTA sticker on a Mk1

Post by jimsimoc »

Hi!

Not sure if it was half picked off, or if it just has come away but my Mk1 only has half the TOYOTA sticky white lettering on the front. (looks rough)

Ive tried removing the rest by finger nails, but its near impossible and its leaving the nasty sticky glue. Has anyone got any experience of taking this lettering off, or does anyone have any suggestions?

A freind has said hair dryer and glue remover, but im a little worried about the paint.

Cheers

if its the same guy i have bought the stickers from tony gomm i can vouch for them.they are not an exact match to the toyota ones but you would really need to look hard to tell the difference.he has always got them to me next day.he does a range of them not just the fronts.
as for geting the old one of i would try the heat gun/hair dryer this is what my bodyshop told me to use to take the side strips off,it softened up the adhesive nicely.i have never tried stickers though.they are more like transfers. you could try a solvent on an unseen place, then if its ok on the paint have a go at the lettering.
