Blitz DSBC Type-R Question...

Post by liberty »

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hey guys.

I'm running a '92 GTS Turbo pretty much stock engine - Blitz airfilter, new dizzy/rotor arm, magencor leads and new NGK sparks etc.

Installed over the weekend a Blitz DSBC Type R.

What % ratios you guys running?

Last night was running 30ish which was giving me 1.07bar peak. However, today I removed the boost cut and stuck bolts in the hose from the BPS and the 2 loose hoses I removed to install the Blitz DSBC.

Now I have to set the BC at 65 which is giving me an indicated 1bar EXACT peak.

Does this sounds right? Just hope my boost readings aren't playing up, can't see that they are. Cheers.

Yup, sounds about right... the scaling is % really, so you have the valve controller working 65% duty.

I havent got one to compare with you yet, but that sounds about the same settings as the brothers supra !

Not a problem.

To me 65% sounds high! I think I should only be on around 30! I've read somewhere that you should turn the gain up by 5 then set the % to around 30.

I'm pretty certain 65% cycle sounds high for the stock turbo. Even though it's boosting at a max peak of 1bar.

Each car is setup differently, the value is a measure of the controller allowing so much air through to the actuator.

Some actuators are weeker than others, which differentiates the different levels of air required to flow through the controller to the actuator to achieved the desired boost.

If its controlling it, then its fine... ou would know if it wasn't as it would overboost straightaway !

Realistically, try and set no gain up on the controller as it'll be easier to use until you get the hang of it.

Thanks guys.

I've set preset 1 at 65% with a gain of 8 and set preset 2 at 10% with a gain of 5.

Will use preset 2 when going to and from work and preset 1 in my leisure!

Hopefully these figures are OK. =]

your figures sound about right.

any were between 55-65% is about 1 bar.

i know 1.35 bar is about 75% :)
