Where to buy a 3S-GTE turbo engine

Post by scann2 »

Yeah, i know this topic is a common one, but can anyone here advise places to purchase a 3S-GTE engine and parts for a conversion in an NA G-Limited, or where to purchase an MR2 clip? Thanks

Try Rogue Systems (nr. Coventry) or 3-S Service Centre (nr. Bournemouth) - they regularly do turbo conversions and find the engines for you.

We've got a revision 3 donor car available at the moment actually. It's currently a complete car which means you can test drive it and decide if it's the right engine for you. It's only got 47k miles on the clock as well!

Please call me at the office if you want more details - we're currently without internet access following our move to bigger premises. (There's some more information from our old website here: http://www.roguesystems.co.uk/usedparts ... ransplant/)

3S-GTE Transplant into my '93 G-Limited

Post by scann2 »

Hi Patrick, all things required - i assume that also means the Turbo Engine cover and the x2 Twincam 16v Turbo side pieces? Some questions before i call you then:
1. If so, i would be interested, how's the clutch? Driving is not possible, i am in Germany.
2. What is the approx cost for shipping to Germany (I guess on a pallet / box or something)
3. Being an Automotive Engineer, i am Electrically & Mechanically competent, is the install ok for a first timer given that you say all parts will be supplied? I a large garage & time, how long?
4. Are there any supplied or do you plan any instructions for the install? With pics would be nice :-)
5. do you have any pics of the engine please?
6. What warranty do you offer?

Thanks. :P

The donor car hasn't arrived with us yet - should be here this week - I'll give you my opinion once I've driven it.

I'll try and work out a price for you. It wouldn't be cheap though and in the past we've had people either rent a van and collect (France) or drive over and have us fit the engine (Switzerland)!

Given a degree of competence and some guidance from us it shouldn't be too difficult. Allow about a week if you're doing it yourself.

Sorry, we don't have anything like this available.

I can take some for you when the car arrives.

Typically we've not offered a formal warranty on our used engines, but given that we'd rectify any faults with them anyway, I figure we'll offer a 3 month warranty from now on.
