Red G-Limited crash in norwich

Seen another MR2 when you were out and about? Find out if it was another IMOCer here.

Red G-Limited crash in norwich

Post by chriminator100 »

Does anyone know a person who was in norwich on thursday, who crashed their mk2? was walking up to the mall from prince of wales road about 11.30pm when they shot past while turning left, booted it a bit too hard, and lost the back end meeting a nice bollard on the pavement. It wasnt too far from kellers. I didnt see the driver but it made my eyes water. Another warning to all mr2 owners just how easy it is to loose it in damp conditions.

Myth. :-)

It's only "easy" to lose it if you're driving like a maniac. The number of taunts I here from drivers of other cars about how "easy" it is to lose control of an MR2. Well, the road isn't a racing track people. Make sure your driving's appropriate for the road surface/conditions. :-) If you ever find yourself in any doubt about whether or not your vehicle's gonna "make it" through a manouvere, then please go buy a bus pass and let the rest of us reap the insurance benefits. ;-)

It people who arent used 2 the mid engined rear wheel drive setup, you cannot accelerate hard round a sharp bend in the wet at all! any ff wheel drive car will have next to no problem with this but in an mr2 (especially with crappy rear tyres) its so easy to loose the back if you dont no how 2 drive the car - learn how 2 drive the car in different conditions and you'll be fine!

Wasn't in Norwich on Thursday. Were you the person who left a laminated IMOCUK card under the wiper of a red Mk.2 rev 3 parked on Rose Lane car park?

I disagree.

Having lived in Norwich for 5 years, that is one ruthless corner thanks to the ridiclous amount of diesel that ends up on that road.

I've seen a bus lose it on that same corner, and it's extremeley hazardous at times.

i think he probably took it just too fast in the bad conditions. It hadnt rained thursday im pretty sure, but the damp air had formed a nasty layer of dew on the road, which was probably the mistake. It looked bad for the car, but im pretty sure driver was ok.... Im not sure if that was me who posted you a card lictor, but as the good rev'd jim (westham) says, we all have em.
