Interference only on CD, not radio??!!! Help!

Post by robbie_742003 »

Hi all

Have an interference kinda noise when CD player is on, but is fine when i have the radio on, when on CD, even if i turn the volume to 0, the subs are still moving slightly and there is a low 'droning' noise (not the missus either!!)
Anyone have an idea?

Thanks

I dont know whether your amp has a separate ground connection, but might be worth checking/rechecking your ground connections

Hi, i have had really bad interfearance with my set up spent hours and hundreds and its still not gone, though greatly reduced, try earthing your amp to the battery. i take it you do not have a amp for your speakers (not subs).

Mine is down to the fuel pump and power steering pump, been told to try earthing these to the batt to close any round loop

any chance you can borrow a friends head unit at all?? same mfr head unit will be fine, as wiring will be the same.

Just the radio/cd thing makes me think there may be a problem with the HU.

Just a thought

you can also try earthing the head unit to the battery, as you probably guessed, round loop meant ground loop in my last post! It wont cost you anything to try this so might as well be worth a try. Earthing my entrire system to the battery did help to reduce my interfearance.
