Lauen,

Your absolutely correct its more about driver ability, especially on a track like Anglesey, so it makes no difference that he has a T350C, he is unlikely to be the quickest person there, which was suggested by Speedy, I do not have a problem with him not coming at all, I just thought i'd ask the question!

Thanks

Just to let everyone know... 18 places have sold already!!!! Cannot believe how fast they are going!

Basically this means there are two more places at the £120 price... so get in there quick if you want to save £15 over the full price £135.

Also cottaging wise it seems there isn't much room left in the inn though Anna has been looking into other cottages nearby to book for the overspill... again it looks like this is going to sell out, so if you want to be close to the action for the IMOC party... get in there quick!

With reference to comments like this, why is this day so expensive. You'd expect Bookatrack to give some sort of discount, or the imoc to use another track company.

The s2k club got a £40 per customer discount with Easytrack at Bedford the other week for getting 25 cars to go.

Couple of things :

- Anglesey is an actual race track, rather than an airfield, so it's more expensive than say the elvington day.
- Anglesey have also raised their pricing for 2006.
- Book-a-track are also the only trackday company to go to Anglesey at the moment.
- IMOC are not bound to BaT in anyway, when we are arranging the next trackday, we'll be looking at other suppliers again.

I may be wrong, but I think any trackday would be too expensive for aaronjb.
tbh, £135 is fairly cheap as trackdays go, which is partly to do with the circuit. The 'discount' that we came up with was in the price stages. This works both ways as we get some members a discount, and BAT get some money up front which helps with their cash flow. Unfortunately all those spaces have gone now.

Not quite true. a quick search shows at least 2 other trackday companies offering trackdays at anglesey next year. specifically tracksport and circuitdays.co.uk. One of them offering a full day on 18th feb for £89.

My point is that some of the other clubs seem to be getting some pretty decent discounts for filling a circuit or a decent block booking. I know that the IMOC trackdays have traditionally been with Bookatrack, but now might be the time to start shopping around now that a formal club structure and organisers are in place.

£100 isn't expensive for a trackday!

You have to take into account that this will be a closed event, with only IMOC cars running. The Bedford event last weekend was rammed with all sorts of cars.

It costs £20 to be a passenger and £50 for additional drivers with Easytrack! That seems steep to me, where as BAT don't charge :)

Understand your point, but the BAT trackdays so far have been fantastic.

My opinion is that I don't see a reason to change, BAT certainly don't rip us of. They offer a level of service that from experience, other Trackday companies struggle to match.

there were a 100 cars there, with 50 cars allowed on the track at any one time. It was the full GT circuit so best part of 4 miles long and traffic was not an issue for me. I had to queue to get on the track right at the start of the day for about 2 minutes, and at no point again during the day. With the deal the s2k club got we paid £95 for the day, £10 for a passenger and £30 for a second driver to be exact. we then discovered when we got there that we were sharing the day with Lotus On Track who had paid £75 with no additional cost for a second driver or passengers.

But this was the first organised S2K day and we have been offered the same venue for the s2k club only with a minimum of 40 cars for the same money in april next year so deals are there to be done.

You might think that £100 isn't expensive for a track day, and my personal circumstances are such that i'm happy to pay that too, but a lot of imoc members run their cars on tight budgets, and once you take into account the costs of tyres, brake pads, etc it all adds up.

i have been on trackdays with a varied standard of marshalling, briefing, organisation etc and Bookatrack are good, but they certainly aren't the only decent company around.

I know, I was there! Some people paid £160 for the day! £95 is a good deal!! I notice an S2000 ended up pretty deep in the gravel right outside the pitlane, hope his car was ok! The front looked pretty buried!

Class, if you're short on cars I'm sure the ITR-DC2 owners would oblige!

I could stretch to another day at Elvington - £109 + £50 accomodation isn't so bad (even when you include petrol).

Anglesea is a tadge further away, plus with it being £145 per day, plus accommodation it's a chunk more expensive, sadly.

:) I think the prices are fair, to be honest though - I'm just skint (well, no, I could afford to go, but I'd feel bad, since people have lent me money - I have to pay that back first :)).

The BaT day at Elvington was fantastic - to the point where I'm not sure I'd do a day with anyone else..
