Bad luck but possibly a blessing giving the other minor niggles you've had with the engine - time to finally get it all sorted out ready for the racing season to get started.

Never ideal to have this kind of expense but if you take Steve in the car bad things happen......

It was definitely a sad day for the bicuit tin :( Just hoe you gt it sorted soon, the car wasn't half quick though!!! I dred to think what it was like when you were running 2 bar on it

Rip it open and get it sorted out. Ignore the missus, just tell her you found the repair bits :D

I think the AA was a good idea, there was a lot of smoke coming out of it

"but if you take Steve in the car bad things happen......"

LOL ... just for that next time I want a ride in the supra
Small turbos - they're not big and they're not clever!

Bad luck dan ! Saw the smoke it was belching out.

Carry out a compression check... if that proves to be fine, have a look at the turbo, as pointed out, there seemed to be a great deal of residue oil around the downpipe flange on the turbine, indicating either oil being pushed out of the cylinders, or turbo failure... either way, you will get excessive smoke.

Doesn't answer why your getting so much gas venting from the PCV line... that usually indicates piston cracked or ringlands cracked allowing the burnt oil during combustion to pass the rings and exit straight out the PCV line. :(

Hope you sorted it soon.

Nice meeting Si yesterday and a couple of others. Good meeting up with the usual trackday trawlers, jonno needing some no nails the next time to keep the engine bay together and the body work too !! :D Neil "Cone-eater" Johnson !!!

Michael " 2 mpg" Canny was enjoying himself too having only covered 2 laps and half a tank gone.

Anyone see that 200 sx drift car with the bible basher fish symbol on the back... drifter but man of the cloth ?? is that possible !!???

Thou shant not sin, but put the rear into a full opposite lock and get black flagged !!!

Couple of breakdowns spotted, usual reno 5 gt turbo, as michael pointed out the uncommon heat related problems :D to my suprised couple of porsches ( 944 turbo ) variety also gave up !! Couple of scoobies cooking up ( god help him in the summer ! ) and a nice XR2 with severe rod knock, didn't even manage a lap before putting a piston out fo the side wall !! Elvington definitely claimed a few yesterday

Tell me about it. My ol' Scoob would overheat at the drop of a hat on the road, so gawd knows what they're like on the track.

Sounds like it was a good day, apart from the attrition. :(

I hope AndyF wasn't tempted to take his out?

What turbo have you got, mate (I'm guessing hybrid CT26 or CT20b), and where was it built?

I also had a great day at Elvington too.
Tyres were utter rubbish in the wet with some massive oversteer moments!
In the afternoon when the track dried out I was far happier with more controlled oversteer and surprising lack of understeer - most enjoyable!
There's always a dickhead at every trackday and for me it was an arrogant to$$er in a caterfield using his horn when my g/f was going through a slow chicane.
Prompt strong words were had as soon as his helmet was removed!!
Nice to see a few familiar faces as always.

My pic's are here but are all of us, images 1-11. Thankyou kindly to Mr Canny for his photography stiles! Well done for catching pic no7 mate!! 8)

Rowland, that dudes horn was stuck on, I'm sure it wasn't intentional !! he had to pull over a couple of times to stop immobilise it !! :D

You were the white MR2 with slick on the back we'ren't you ??? saw a few entertaining moments from you !!

Sorry I didn't meet you chap, you were either doing 50 laps or the car was parked up, couldn't work out which one you were !!!

I think there was another guy in a white one that liked to give people a toot if he thought he was entitled to pass them on a corner or a similar non overtaking place.

Quite a few tools on the track on Saturday IMO, not newbies, just kn0bheads who seemed to be out to prove something
