My car made 262bhp/336Nm (230ishlb/ft) - on a 93k engine with 17psi decat, exhaust, filter. (rev 3)
That guy didn't have a clue though! He didn't seem to be strapping the cars down hard enough, and the sitting in the boot thing was just plain ridiculous; surely thats not needed with these relatively low powered cars. Did you notice that all the sensors were on the side not being used. A complete joke. No boost pressure or lambda measurement.
It seems like thayve just got the RRoad in there and are too skint to do anything else/use it properly. You get what you pay for I guess.....

Well done Jo for getting the day to run smoothly =D>

how can you expect them fit all of this and still run 20cars.......if you wanted all of this fitted, you need to spend a good 1-2hours on a RR by yourself.....
the day was purely a POWER run!! not a diagnostics/help/every sensor hooked up.....
hell id love all of that to be honest, but on these RR days there just not time, unless of course you got with say 5cars or something... O:)

Well, at a couple of previous rolling road days i've been to the lambda and oil temp sensors have been used. Ok, there werent quite so many cars running on those days, but we were from there by lunchtime, not 5pm!
I'm not talking about a full diagnostics, just the simple addition of a couple of sensors for a bit more info thats all.
I spoke to the guy running it as well and he didn't seem to have much of a clue as to what he was on about, an a couple of other people said the same too.

That's a bit harsh, chap. I personally thought that they ran the whole thing with a nice relaxed atmosphere and were really nice people.
It wasn't their fault their RR had problems, and there were 20+ cars to get through. The whole day was a bit of fun, really. Cold, but fun! :D

I have run and attended more dyno days than I care to mention. This day was typical "back street" garage with a new dyno. They didnt really have enough 2wd turbo experience IMHO. The cars were moving around on the dyno, there was no air being suplied to the intercoolers so every tubby had heatsoak after the first couple of runs (yes even at 4 degrees ambient!), they should really have been running the AFR sensor on the exhaust just for safety. I also noticed on a few of the plots that the ambient temp was displayed as 14 degrees C, anyone who was there can tell you it was definitely NOT 14 degrees!!.

Having said that, you get what you pay for, and £25 is mighty cheap to run on any dyno these days.

To put it into perspective I will be running the 3rd (or is it 4th?) annual IMOC dyno day at Nobles in March. That will include full AFR plot, boost plot, power at the wheels and fly and about 10 minutes diagnosis time with Darren who runs the dyno. The snag is that it cost us £38 per 2wd car last year (£48 for 4wd!) and I heard on the grapevine that its gone up this year as well!.

We are also capped at 16 cars, the first year we ran 25 but the day ran from 08.30 to 14:00 and that was with very slick changeovers and everyone being cooperative!.

I thought it was a good day, slightly too cold but it still seems good value!.

Neil.

I got what i expected for my £25, just a power run though i was expecting i fan supplying air to the intercooler but as Jonno says "typical "back street" garage with a new dyno".
The cars wern't strapped down hard enough hence Tim an i sitting in the back of my tubby. I was disappointed when i noted later that he only ran my tubby to 6600revs..but generaly happy with the day.
Neil when are you taking names for the Nobles RR day?
450wbhp comming soon

Neil - Had my Rev2 Unichip'd at Nobles a couple of months back & was told that they couldn't give me an ATW bhp figure due to a new machine setup that only calculates flywheel bhp so I'd double-check with them if they can. I was very disappointed with that fact :(

:D Well i've just had my car back on THOR dyno (with DannyW for proof) and I have to say that thier results were alot better than "streetracers"

301.5bhp At the HUBS @1.3 bar
18% tranny loss

I would say thats 360-370 flywheel  (I don't know how to work it out correctly)

Yeah, its there most of the time these days! Currently minus gearbox and clutch - waiting for parts, since Exedy have refused the warrany claim.

As for Nobles im sure they gave us ATW figures last year. I will check with them in the new year once I start to arrange things.

I would guess that I will start the list sometime in January. Seems a little early at the minute :)
