How is Oldham these days?
I'm an Oldhamer born n bred, strong in the arm........
Lived in Chadderton (Stirling St.) from 1970 (born) until 1980 when I moved to Werneth (Frederick St.) then out of the area to Warrington in 1984
Moved back to Oldham in 1986 and lived various places....
Guest house on Edward St, friends flat on Manchester Road (one of the two blocks near the flyover roundabout) then got my own flat on Kranj way.
Used to go out and get pi$$ed in the Spotted Cow then go to Butterflies :P

Butterflies....

I'd insert a dreamy remeniscent emoticon if there was one.

Were you counting my car in that Stevo? as I'm technically not there anymore.

It's bloody cold but no snow yet

I'm a Werneth lad - You must know the Plough Inn on Manchester Road - Spent most of my late teens/early twenties in there. Used to be an such a good place to start the weekend. Going back some years and i'm not sure where the Spotted Cow is/was? Was it the top of Middleton Road? If so it's The Abbey now (good rock/indie bar)

Butterflies *cough*youth club*cough* got shut down years ago and now is a Riley's snooker/pool bar - Haunted too apparently

Candlelight (used to be known as grab a granny ) is still there

Only been in the candlelight twice in my entire life and that was when i was in my teens so quite a while back. Only been in Scruples a couple of times aswell - Not my music preference ](*,)

Used to end up in Cabaret most of the time when i was "younger"

Nowadays it's The Abbey, The Castle and Tokyo Project \:D/ (and the odd trip to Niagra)

Just had to quote this i just found on the net about various clubs in Oldham - Must be old cause it mentions Henry Afrikas

Oldham nightlife is good for getting into a fight, grabbing a granny and dancing to Los Macerenos but not much else

 Henry Afrikas and the wade through the pool of p1$$ toilets

Ambition was best i thought when they visited Oldham once a year and booked the QEH - Awesome nights - They had a rodeo bull at the back of the dance floor on one occasion - Was ace - Although probably not the best activity to undertake after a skinful of beer

Posh? White Hart at Lydgate, but that isn't exactly Oldham... but still a nice place nonetheless. Just re-read: sorry, that's a pub. I don't think there's any posh clubs except Vogue, if that still exists, and that's only a bar... as is Budha, I like there too.

Church Inn in Uppermill is my jaunt. £1.20 a pint. Sorted.

chuffin hell, like a trip down memory lane was this!

scruples! OMG the nights we spent trying to walk in there without sticking to the carpet!

but tokyo's rocks!

jus slightly to young for the butterflies & henry arfikas days.
spend most time in town in the litten tree (best mates mrs is manager there  ) tend to avoid oldham town centre tho, more likin me locals round lees, Front house (my 2nd home) red lion, legends, milan's (used to be devvy, now posh place!) then off to good ol' dannielles for a bit of AT!

upper'thrill tho! not been in church in for a while, nice cheap beer tho!
another mates mrs was workin in the 3 crowns untill 2 months ago, next one up from church, spent few quite nights there too!

can see "IMOC - Oldham Branch" p1$$ up on the cards here (any excuse!)
