Yep, I'd like to say thanks to Jo for putting the effort in organising this event.

I'm pretty chuffed with my results: 247bh/p at 6615rpm, and 319Nm (235 ft-lb) of torque is pretty good from my rev3 with filter and zorst.

What are people's drivetrain losses ('Drag power') like? Looking at Olly's sheet on here shows 62 horses, whilst mine sits at 53. Just curious to know the averages to see if my Phoenix Power gearbox is nice and efficient or there's something else to it.

It was a great day although abit cold. Very pleased with my mk1's result 115.5bhp at 6855 rpm and 132.3 Nm. My car is completly standard and was the second highest for a mk1. The highest was 119bhp and that only had a performance exhaust.

All the other mk1's had performance exhausts and air filters and were getting between 105-113, if i remember correct.

Will have to see what fitting my KnN will do now, could make a lose :?

It'll be interesting if everyone from yesterday puts down their RR results on this thread for comparison. I'm still interested in the drivetrain losses, so that would be useful to know too.

Anyone wanna buy a Unichip with boost module (not yet fitted)? :D

Well it certainly was an interesting day for me

First run he did the engine management light came on, and no boost kicking in so decided to take it off the rollers as it acheived an awesome 65bhp lmao, Thanks to Tim and the guys that came to look, and again to tim for some brilliant advice, im a novice to turbo's so now i know a bit more about them. Anyway with tim's advice i took off my boost controller which inadvertadly was installed the wrong way round lmao, and run it at stock, Still something majorly wrong with it though as second run it reached 160bhp, which is seriously wrong for a rev2 as standard there 220ish. So im now looking for a decent garage to tell me whats wrong,i guess at a boost leak somewhere, and with the manifold blowing, could be part of my problem. Other than that im at a loss.

In whole a dissapointing figure, but such a great day to see some of the nicest MR2's iv seen in a while, Nice to meet some of you off here too, and generaly a good day. Thanks jo.

Yep - First off thanks very much Jo for organising. Twas a great day although I had to leave a little early :(

Anyway I was happy with my results. I have only had the car two months and it is fairly standard. Its a rev3 with Apexi N1 muffler, Aussie downpipe and HKS panel filer. My figures were :-

254.5 bhp / 325.6 Nm torque

I least I know it must be quite healty and ready for the EBC to go on next weekend for a couple more PSI.

Thanks to everyone that came, glad most of you enjoyed it :D

It is my plan to run this as an annual (november) MR2 MK1 club event, maybe changing location to suit different people, unless this will be a pain for those who want to make direct comparisons with their last run.

I will have all the results soon, so if everyone is happy i can post them up when i get them. I was the lowest! (again  )
I think its interesting that some of you were not happy with the figures, as a lot of the MK1's seemed about right (considering age of the cars - only a few brake down from std or spot on), and a few of the standard MK2's were bang on what they should have been too, ah-well......
It will always be an interesting debate :-k
anyway - i'm sure mine was under by at least 30 BHP! LOL 8-[

Looking forward to reading what JTuner does for us, and will let you know when i find out what issue it will be in.

We did eventually make it to a pub for some grub (about 12 of us, then were joined by Gordon and Emma from streetracers also)

Hope you all go home ok, and see you all at the next event i do:

Rotorstock

Thanks again
Jo

last again!!!

My loss was 54bhp! Does the weight of the wheels and or tyre widths make a difference. My alloys are light weight jap jobbies

my drag loss was 60bh/p at max revs, and that's with new gearbox oil this year.

Not being pedantic or anything, but my engine bh/p was actually 254bh/p - I quoted the "corrected" figure of 247bh/p for some reason. Anyone know why the difference?

Same here Ian - my "Engine Power" was 251bhp, but corrected down to 243bhp

Hi guys can I appologise to the MK2 owners who I didn't get to speak to at all due to me trying to obtain as much info from MK1 owners do do a bit of a report for the MK1 Club mag. The thing I didn't get though was forum user names so apart from system-g and mr2mk1chick I cant put real names and forum names together if you see what I mean so could all MK1 runners let me know who you are/were please

pps, you saying the wheel power loss was roughly 50-60bhp????????

ie, at the wheels you was hitting 180-200, but flywheel you was hitting 240-260????????

weight has nothing to do with it IMHO, weight of the wheels anyway, geez, im sure the 0-10kg in difference in wheels doesnt matter to much considering you have over half a ton on the rear wheels anyway!

Flywheel mate, i know it's poo-poo-Ka-Kaaaa aint it. the graph tells it all, everything just drops at exactly 5000rpm. too much fuel. boost was holding fine though.

Yes, I thought along similar lines. A nice big blowing thing at the IC would've been nice (and raised the figures a wee bit too! :D )

jimGTS wrote:what you guys hit at the wheels tho???????

I hit 200.3 BHP at the wheels.

jimGTS wrote:TO MANY ARE QUOTEING FLYWHEEL!!!

Indeed - the figures I've quoted earlier in this thread have been the corrected ones, but agree that ATW figures are more usable.
