Hold, you telling me that CT27 kit is only
$700 after exchange or am I reading it wrong?

Re: Power gains through doing the following?Wanting 300 bhp.
You are reading wrong.
It is
$1400 afterexchange.

Still seems a fair price.

Whats the spec on the CT27
?

Whats the spec on the CT27

Re: Power gains through doing the following?Wanting 300 bhp.
CT27:

T04E 46 trim compressor wheel
ATS cnc machine ported exhaust housing

Typical dyno tests show 300hp at 15 psi
My 93T makes 265 wheel hp at 17 psi.
With a CT27+ rom kit.
With a 50/50 mix of race gas and 20 psi I made 291whp.
More info and dynos here: http://atsracing.net/ct27.htm

lol Rory, congrats with the dyno result! best rev2 we've seen, animal

2nd best
253 RWHP on Al's 1990 GT, 100+ racefuel, 16psi, ct20b, toms panel filter, aussie dp, 3" exhaust, a/f sat flat on 11:1.![]()

Al's is a bit of a freak though, I would have thought his injectors would have been restricting it but nope.He now has a Steel turbine wheeled ct20b from the WRC ST205 so willbe good to see his next dyno sheet.
.
.
.should be able to try with a tad more boost.

.see if he can catch me
Unless I can get mine tuned before he does his run

i must be going blind, i thought that graph said 190 at the wheels.

190 yes..
.just not 190 bhp.
.
.can't quite suss out the measurement units
(bit small on my 15" TFT

) but presume this is something that translates to 253bhp.
.
.Al?

lol yup you're right, it will be measured in KW out there which is converted by division of 0.747

Cheers geoff, no need for me to book that eye test yet lol

Mine made 263 whp at 16 psi, with my PFC tuned, cat removed,

Time will tell I guess.

Cheers for all the info boys!

ok, so how would i be able to achieve 300 RWHP? mods, price etc? Also, if its 300 RWHP what BHP would be pushed out at the flywheel?

Cheers

Depends on your wheel setup

Re: Power gains through doing the following?Wanting 300 bhp.
300rwhp is out of reach of the stock gen1/gen2 fuel system.

275rwhp is pretty much the limit.
.
.and my god its super quick for the street

Not

NB curves from top to bottom

Re: Power gains through doing the following?Wanting 300 bhp.
I dont see an a/f plot on there to tell me that how lean/rich it is? When I put down 253rwhp on stock ecu/fuelling it was sitting at 11:1.
I'd feel safe going to around 12:1 on pump fuel or 12.5:1 on racefuel.

Never really been too bothered about all that to be honest.

These days I'd probably be a bit more interested in the technicalities of it, but as long as it runs OK I'm pretty satisfied!

BTW, mine's a Rev3 so adequate fuelling is probably less of an issue with the bigger injectors

Re: Power gains through doing the following?Wanting 300 bhp.
Ok

I'm trying to think where I mentioned anything about the gen3 motor.

A dyno run without a a/f plot is like a 1/4 mile run without a 60ft.
Pretty much useless.

You didn't mention the Gen3 motor

Why's the dyno run useless without an a/f plot? Figures are figures surely, if the car is still running fine at

Not trying to be awkward and I'm keen to take any chance to learn more, so please.

Re: Power gains through doing the following?Wanting 300 bhp.
Your a/f ratio
(like the 60ft in dragracing) is where you can see whats going on and can improve.

Generally mr2s run stupidly rich.
You can see where you need to take out fuel or add fuel in the rev range under load.
IE my a/f ratio sits pretty much dead flat on 11:1 until redline, therefore with an aftermarket ecu or a safc/fpr combo I could lean it out to closer to 12:1 and make a nice chunk more power.

The reason I like to see an a/f plot is just curiosity to see how well tuned it is.
If you were to go to a different dyno place and get a wideband a/f printout with your power/torque graph and it was sitting at 10:1 I wouldn't be very happy with my
'tuner'
.

I see where you're coming from now

There's certainly more to come from mine, seeing as I'm still running the stock IC.

Re: Power gains through doing the following?Wanting 300 bhp.
No no not at all, I see a rwhp curve therefore im happy

However I was slightly miffed that you compared a gen3s fuelling and power capabilities with the lesser gen2 motor.
