Get a deal at TOYOTA....

If you motor needs some biggish job doing, try your main dealer and try some Haggling.

A simple "Christ, I just cannot afford that, but I would like you guys to do the work. Can you at all sort me a deal out somehow?" will get you further than you think...

MR2 Turbo, Radiator replacement.
£197.00 for the Rad, 3 hours labour (includes full air bleed)

Roughly £350 + VAT!!! to Joe Public.

Sorted my mate out who wanted it doing...

20% off the Rad, £60 flat for the labour, £130 saved.

Basically if the dealership needs to get hours in the workshop booked, they WILL slash prices!!!!

You have been advised :)

Interesting. It's very typically British not to haggle over prices, though, so trying to cut a deal with the local Toyota garage isn't going to come naturally to some people!

But then, they're supposed to be a dealership, I suppose...
Mk2 NA Rev1 -*- Mk2 Turbo Rev2 -*- Mk1 NA -*- Mk2 Turbo Rev 3 = all gone!

Last time I went into my stealership for a part (retaining screws I think it was) I asked for a discount and the parts guy told me to bend over the Celica in the window whilst he got a six foot scaffolding pipe and some vaseline.

I didn't hang around.......

When I saw the thread "Aaagggh Thieving scummy b*****ds !!!!!" I thought it was about my local stealership.......

It's all about who you know at times too - be friendly with them and they'll look after you.
Remember, £55+vat odd an hour is making them stooopid profit, so is £20!!!!

It is hard to haggle, but if you spot quiet periods, there's your chance.

Mk2 Rad is a GBNGA-5J036. £197+vat and its an exchange unit, Brand spankers s over £380!!!! PLUS VAT!
