urgent ------mr2 mk2 stereo equipment question -------urgent

guys and gals,

really need some help with my mr2 mk import. I have just purchased a newish double din stereo without brackets. I purchased some brackets from ebay for my car but they seem not to fit, unless im missing something blinking obvious.

therefore the new stereo not in car until i sort this prob out. I imagine that these brackets are not right, does anyone know the sizes of the actual correct brackets? width/length/inside holes/outside holes etc

any help gratefully recieved

Hey there

So you have the correct brackets for your car?
And the new stereo doesn't meet up?

Look around on the side of the new stereo for bolt holes. And drill your brackets creating new holes that meet up with the stereo.

Note that this bolts have to be very short, and must not touch anything on the inside of the stereo.

basically I have a double din unit and a set of brackets.

the brackets are not original from the car

the brackets where purchased from ebay as for a 91 import

the brackets fit the radio fine as it seems to

but the brackets on the d/din do not fit in the car

the holes on the bracket do not seem to match the holes in my dash

therefore i was hoping someone had or knew the dimensions of their brackets or any advice

I've got a set of brackets if that's what you want from a rev3

thought they were the same though.

can you measure the said bracket for me. im looking for the length outside hole to outside hole?

will certainly know then if the ones i have are totally wrong and its me thats being silly!

Apologies if I'm stating the obvious here - the brackets are the right way round aren't they? They should be marked L and R.

Are you suggesting they are too wide to line up with the existing bolt holes in the dash?
Might it be worth trying to fit the brackets WITHOUT the stereo just to check they can line up?
