wanted import rear light clusters

Post by ppmr2 »

Hi all

Anyone know of anybody with some import mk1 rear light clusters going spare ?

On my import NA a foglight mod has been made to them which means the bulb holders stick into the boot, making them very easy to knock-off when loading stuff in. :(

So im looking for a set where the internal boot plastic covers haven't been modified.

Ta

lo superchargedsam

to be honest i haven't really had a good look inside the lights to see how they are wired-up.

but basically on each side the internal covers have had a hole drilled and the a large blue bulb holder has been screwed in and twist fitted like a light bulb.

i quess this means an additional bulb has then been wired inside the light covers for fogs, but there wasn't room to keep the main bulbs in there.

i just want to get some new covers and see if there is an other way without bolting on an external fog light.

if you check out my car in the garage section you can just see the end of the bulb-holder on the picture of my blitz air filter in the boot.

cheers :D

cant you tint one of the reversing lights red and wire that as a fog with the appropriate bulb fitted?

This is what I did:

Image

A bit of plastic from a brake light, cut to shape and stuck over one reversing light, which was then wired into the foglight (simple, swap the reversing light pin in the multiplug to the missing centre one - which is foglight on UK cars).

Want to get a couple of nice rounded fog lights to go in the corners of the valance eventually... but this needed doing to pass the MOT, and I didn't want to do any drilling or permanent modding of the lights.

It's the Eurosport kit (http://www.eurosport-uk.co.uk/)

Replacement sideskirts (x2), door mouldings (x2), arch extensions (x4), front valance (x1), rear valance (x1) and replacement rear spoiler (x1). Be warned, if you do go for one; it's a lot of work to get it to fit well.

Yes Paul - double figures of PM's received about them!

Am going to test them all this weekend and then will let you know a price.
