Re: Black rev 3 tubby in shevington
yeah, let me know mate as there will be a couple of peeps going, one of my mates has a got a black N/A rev2 who will be going as well, so it would look good having 3 MR2's in convoy
.
I just hope that it dont rain!!

I used to have a silver nova, with novadose on it, i sold that and got a corsa GSI, which is up for sale still!

The turbo has got to back to the place i got it from as the front strut on passenger side is bottoming out when u go over a pothole and also there is some cover on the driveshaft thats rubbing when u go round a left turn with two up

Hows yours been since u had it? you had any problems? what colour is it??

Have a look on my profile, it should be in the garage!
Had no problems with mine really, ive bought a new thermostat for it but havent had chance to fit it yet.
Its only got 43k miles on the clock, full japanese history with 1 owner from new, and its mint!
Red is the colour, i didnt want another black one as they are a bu88er to keep clean!

You've done well to get an MR2 with that mileage on it!

your right about black being a mare to keep clean, tell me about it

Re: Black rev 3 tubby in shevington
Yeah i did well but i also paid a high price for what i wanted, and it was completely standard too!

My old rev 2 NA t-bar was black, but i swore i would never get another t-bar or a black car, a, for the leaks, and b, for the amount of car cleaning products you need to keep it clean!

I did like the look or Carribean Blue.
.
.they look really good in pictures, but in the flesh they just show too many swirl marks, and they are hard to buff out of metalic cars.

Re: Black rev 3 tubby in shevington
yeah my mate had a carribian blue one which was a N/A and a T-bar, looked reallt nice when sun was out, but as u say, the swirl marks were all over the place.
its probably been to too many car washes lol.

how much u pay for your tubby and where u get it from??

when i was looking for an MR2, i said to myself that i wouldnt get a red one as i have a red corsa n the paint went pink n had to get it resprayed, but the paintwork on yours looks mint

I paid 6.5k for mine, i got it imported through Japenese Direct Imports, i took a few months waiting for the right one in Japan to become available, and then went for it.
I was also looking at steel mist grey, but then this red one came up and was a GT too with low mileage, and a re-spray so i took it!
Im very happy with it, had to change the thermostat yesterday but now is running sweet!!

Re: Black rev 3 tubby in shevington
i think thats the best idea, coz there are so many tubbys for sale, that you can be selective about what you wanna buy.
I always feel that paying that little bit extra is alwaya worth it especially if the car is mint

The jap meet is the 14th november mate, if u decide to come down

What time is the meet, its just im away on a course that week, and not sure what time in the evening it finishes!
Where did you get your car from?

Re: Black rev 3 tubby in shevington
the meet normally kicks off about 7-30 onwards, goes on till about 9-30/10pm.
normally a good turn out as you sometimes get the old jap retro cars turning up as well.
last time i went there was an old 280zx nissan

I got my car from Car Equality.
They specialise in jap import cars and also Land Rovers!! hopefully after these little problems ive got, the car should be ok
<touch wood>, as going to bradford n back costs a bomb in the tubby!

Re: Black rev 3 tubby in shevington
Its a shame there are no shell garages near us, i use the BP one up the road, at at the moment the ultimate unleaded is only 96.9, compared to the 101.9 when i first got the tubby!

Re: Black rev 3 tubby in shevington
yeah the nearest one is on warrington road in goose green near the motorway.
I wonder if the tesco in town is gonna get 99RON, i checked there the other day, but still none for sale
, but will keep checking!

i used the BP one the other day, think its 97RON?.
have u ever used octane boosters??

Have u found out if ur gonna be be able to go jap meet next monday??
