Donington Trackday 5th November

Post by Icsunonove »

Donington Trackday 5th November - Open pitlane - not many cars booked (i.e loads of good track space)

Click this: http://www.bookatrack.com/-pB?598

Thought I had some valid reasons why I couldn't go:

1) Anna and Alex (Speedy) had my track wheels....

Well they brought them back on Sunday

2) I'd got no tyres and the online company said they'd take about 10 days to deliver.....

They delivered in 3 days

Oh dear! :( I'm really tempted now!

The Foster posse (Rob, Becky, Julie, Peter and Steve) are confirmed booked and are bringing three MR2s. Anyone know any of their usernames here, I've forgotten? :?

Neil (Jonno) and Dino are provisionally booked in Neil's Mk2 turbo.

Anna, Alex and me are provisionally booked in our Mk1 Superchargers.

Anyone else interested?

(PS I forgot the other valid reason, which is still valid, I'm skint!)

Unfortunately me and Dino cant make this anymore since I have broken my clutch. Normally this wouldnt be such a serious problem, but since its brand new and I am going to have to do a warranty claim from Exedy UK its likely to take way too long to get ready for this weekend.

Looks like I will have to wait until next year :(

Yeah, me too!

You would have expected a £1200 Exedy Twin Plate clutch to last more than 1500 miles!.

Camskill have been brilliant so far and are waiting to progress the warranty claim for the replacement parts, however I still have to pay for the gearbox to be dropped and the clutch removed and re-fitted!.

All in all, its something I would much rather not have to do!.

Excellent stuff :)

I believe he has seen the light, and bought some 539s.. Although, with the reduced amount of grip, I think he'll find them interesting to start with. Esp if it's wet on Saturday :)

:clown: Only joking, do you know how much Advan A048Rs are?
It's A539s for me too! They look like tractor tyres compared with my old ones.

BUT I *may* have sorted my over-fuelling problem which means I may be able to run a +50hp shot of NOS!

(xxxx! Good point Tom, need to get to Wizards of NOS and get my bottle refilled!)

Not driving now! :( Was hoping to possibly share costs with my brother, but he was involved in a 3 car pile up on the M25 on Wednesday and is feeling rather second hand with whiplash and bruising. I don't think it's a good idea for him to be driving in that state.

So I'm hoping some kind people i.e Foster posse and Anna and Alex will be kind and offer me some passenger laps! :D

We were promised rain for the afternoon (was looking forward to it to do some proper gooning practice) but it never materialised....
Got home and it started raining #-o

I didn't have the fun of 'ben-o-vision' this time - although have got a little bit of stuff on the camcorder (although I didn't realise it was running out of charge #-o )

Thanks everyone, had a great day! :D

Will post some pics tomorrow, but unfortunately my camera decided it didn't want to play ball and most of them are out of focus :( (probably something to do with the user!)

Becky, I really hope you made it home ok! You do have the most dreadful luck.....

Really ace day, gently warming up in the morning, then got going when I took Icsunonove out for a passenger lap before lunch..

"pit wall, pit wall!!"

weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Shame it didn't rain really, and I have to say that some of the driving on the day was some of the worst I've seen on a BaT day - even batcats overtaking without consent on the way into the craners.. not very impressed with that at all.

Yes, probably not a good idea to attempt to enter the pitlane sideways flat out in third!

Wasn't worried about my own safety, more worried about your car! :D
