Welcome to IMOC-UK!

Is it the Revision 2 GT-S:

Manual, K Reg, 57,582 miles, Metallic Black. Half Leather, PAS, Rear Spoiler, Adjustable steering column/wheel, Air conditioning, Alloy wheels, Radio/Cassette/CD with Sony multichanger, Central locking, Colour coding - Body, Electric mirrors, Electric windows, Sports seats, Superb Condition Inside Out.

...for £4195?

From the pictures, the bodywork looks good. A test drive and £4000 should secure the deal! :D

Looks ok mate, but (and not to dampen your spirits) I would look round and test drive a few different variants of the MR2 (i.e. revision) before plumping for one.

Take a little time in picking the right car as no doubt you will want to spend money on it turning it into "your" 2.

All the best, and let us know how you get on.

Alan - how much do you want to spend and what area do you live in? Depending on the cashflow, you might be able to plump for a Rev 3+ MR2. Area-wise, there might be someone on this forum that could offer some advice face-to-face (or car-to-car).

It's mint and been well looked after. Great example of a MR2.

Yeah, IMO I'd say keep shopping, you could probably find a nice rev3 for a similar price.

but it depends really. Which rear lights do you prefer? And would you want to run a 'PPPPPPPPSSSCCCCHHHHHHTTTTTT' dumpvalve? 8) if so hold out for a rev3.

Go have a look + test drive though. If you get the first one you look at and its a gooden, we'll be jealous! I think everybody has shopped around a fair bit!

I've got 4K cash if there is anyone with a black turbo around the North West!

Is a Rev 3 an even later Reg? L? Will a rev2 not take a DV?

Both my tubbies have been/are 'L' reg MR2s. The previous was a late Rev 2, and the current one is an early Rev 3.

You can put a DV on a Rev 1 or 2 (my Rev 2 had one on it), but it's not recommended according to IMOC folklore if you want to preserve the life of your engine.

Check one of the topic from a week or so ago, as this mentions things in more detail on the DV side of things.

Many people want a REV3 because with limited funds you can reach 300HP, where as on a REV2, with the same money spent your looking at about 245/250HP.

Its all down to personal choice, as Keiron says. Test drive different cars to see how they feel and then chose the one for you.

I didn't know what else to call it! :D From previous readings on this site, the old site, and the mailing list, 50% of the people with Rev 1/2 cars who have BOVs don't have any problems, yet the other 50% do, so...
