2 tricky questions

Post by Renegade »

Ok i 'll try to make it short

1) My car was n/a and someone made a conversion.
How can i identify the version of the engine (1,2, or 3 :D ceramics power :D )

2) My gearbox is the manual for the n/a.
I heard that there are turbo gearbox that don't match the housing. Is that right? (Cause i was thinking ordering one!!!!)

Thanks guys

1) Rev 1/2 engines have an AFM. you can see this near the intake side of the engine. They also have a plaque stating, in black and red writing:

2000 TWIN CAM 16
CERAMICS POWER
TWIN ENTRY TURBO

You should alo be able to see "CT26" marked on the turbo

Rev 3 engines do not have this plaque, use a map sensor instead of AFM. They also have an oil catch tank (big black plastic casing) to the left of the engine.

2) an N/A gearbox will not stand up to the turbo's torque!

Hope this helps mate
