suspension query?????

Post by jimGTS »

not sure where to post this but here goes.

i recently measured my front suspension.
and the front left seems to be a good inch higher than the front right hand side of the car.

both rear levels seem the same.

i have brand new bilsteins and pi -40mm springs on.

what could be my problem???

(ive had these on for 6months, so they should have bedded in by now).

help!!

think it may be causing me handliing problems, even though i never take her to the limit (round corners, :-)).

plus, it bugs me a lil cause i can see the difference, even though the average joe cant.

any ideas??

Have you had an alignment done since replacing the suspension?

If you haven't the alignment will defo be out if you have replaced the springs and dampers. This could easily cause it tbh.

Has it always been like this? ie since you put it on or only recently?

its always been like it since they were put on.
nope, not had an alignment done at all! doh!

i think it could be the spring itself though.

before hand, i was lowered about 50mm, on adjustable suspension.
but due to a front left strut going, i had to replace them with bilsteins, and i thought it would be a good idea to change the springs to, as they looked old (and the level they were at could i been due to saggyness). since then, my ride has risen, and the height on the front left doesnt match the height on the 3 other corners.
bit of a bu88er really, as i was proper LOW!!

this is before hand, when it arrived from japland!

pretty low id say!

It is possible its the spring, these things do happen.

When you do get it sorted get an alignment done though as this will be miles out. changing anything on the suspenders always throws out the alignment.

This is more likely to affect your handling tbh.
