MK1 REAR SPEAKER MOUNTS

Post by gordy.r »

Has anyone seen any speaker mounts for the the mk1?
I have seen one pair which looked as though they may sit to the rear on the right of the driver and left of the passenger, but i am unsure if these were standard?
Any help or advice on where i could get such a unit or something similar? :?:

Mk1b has rear speakers(3.5") mounted on the B pillar (to the left of the passengers head and to the right of the crivers head) Not much good IMHO. MK1a didn't have them.
I disconnected mine and made up 2 bass/sub boxes ( 5.5" speakers) that sit on the floor behind the seats, with a small amp to power them under the passengers seat. You lose a bit of rear travel on the seats but not much and I can still sit my T-bars on top of the speakers. Made a major difference to the sound quality with a reasonable amount of bass. Have a look in my garage for picture http://www.imoc.co.uk/forums/garage.php ... 1&MID=3140
