[All ] Elephant 10month bonus accelerator ???

Just a quick question, the elephant bonus accelerator seems like a good way to rack up the no claims but ive heard that some insurance companies dont recognise/accept the years no claims built up while on the accelerator scheme ?

Does anyone know if this is true or is it just a rumour ?

It is true although most don't bother. The way this works is elephant give you 10 month's cheap so you get your no-claims, you try to move somewhere else but they won't accept so you stay with elephant who put the proice up the second year. Only way out is to cancel elephant policy then take out another policy with them rather than continue with the existing one.

the only down side is that you would be stuck with elephant for the rest of your life then !

not entirely true as when elephant send you out the letter with your no claims bonus entitlement.....it doesnt mention anything about it only being over 10 months.

therefore the next company cannot say anything about it.

i think speed is right, when i got my renewal through it just said 2 Years NCD, when my renewal comes through this time i think'll take me 3 years and try and get a 12 monther either with them or somewhere else....

You will be fine if you are older , my problem was i hadn't been driving a year but had a years no-claims and had just turned 18.

It is good if you have low (or no) NCD. But they do charge more per month than a 12 month policy, so get a quote for both & see if it's worth it.

I went with this for my 1st insurance and then went to Tesco the year after and didn't have any problems with NCD.

I've found Elephant to be way cheapest for some years, Admiral and Diamond are all part of the same group.

bit late on this one! but i tooka policy with frizzel did one year they gave me second year no claims for free!because they give it you registered no one else can deny you insurance on it!i then took my second year with elephant so will have 3 years no claims after only 1year 10months and fom what i understand no insurance company will care because another company guarentees it its all good!worked fine for me so dont worry!

i did this policy with elephant but that's only because my no claims is used up on my tuned rev 3 turbo and i only need my rev 1 turbo as a runabout for a little bit until i get it back and had no ncb

some systems will compare when you started driving and how many NCB you have... 18ish with 3yrs NCB isnt possible...

trust me it threw it up on my partners policy...she nearly got screwed by that ten month policy as only a few select companiies would accept that you started driving in march and ten months later you have 1 years ncb..right pain in the ar$e
