Sticky Aerial

Post by Algonquin »

I have a '93 MR2 n/a, old style spoiler (rev?) with a sticky aerial. Does anyone know how to lube this to make it retract better. Works ok but sticks when switching off and has just started to leave about 3-4 inches sticking out.

Cheers y'all.

Yeah, I had a new mast fitted by Toyota when the darn thing got stuck completely in the up position.

At the time I was fairly pleased because I thought they were going to have to fit a whole new unit which is £100+.

Anyhow, even the new one sticks from time to time.
I find keeping it well oiled with some 3in1 helps but then you get a dirty aerial.
