there's always a good turnout from the ferrari replica club to keep the mk2 boys happy/amused delete as apropriate. tuning /suspension stuff/ssteal nuts and bolts etc. dont be put off by the kit car thing its a good weekend allround
Its shame to miss it - plus Sat eve could be a good 'session' for those camping. I may stay for a bit into the eve.
a Doris and Fred BBQ is not to be missed though I dont remember the trip home last year

Really looking forward to it! :D

Don't like the Ferrari replicas based on the Mk2. Have you seen the wheel spacers required     ?

Do like the Lancia Stratos replicas though. Might even cannabalise my X1/9 to get parts to build one. But the decent basic kit is £12,000

Does it matter which car club? I have my membership card for NottsAboutMinis :) Does that count?

Not sure which day I'll be able to make but hope to get to meet a few of you at some point over the weekend.

think the free entry for MK1 club members is because MK1club have a stand so we get in as exhibiters you will need to contact your club to see if they have any arrangements or join the MK1 club

How can I join and get a membership card in time for the show on Sunday?

Sounds like it is stretching the old luck a bit much :?

Preparation is eveything :? :? If your serious about joining send your cheque off then PM FLITZER tell him you've just joined he has already arranged to come to the gate and get any members in who are expieriencing difficulty and I think has posted his Mob. no. on the MK1 club site so you could call him when you get there

Fred may have a spare blank membership card, so he might be able to give you a card straightaway! (It doesn't need laminating or anything) :D Like Kevin says give him a call......

Just let me know where you want me to be and when and I'll be there Kevin. I'll have my son with me too. If you can get him in too that would be great, otherwise it'll just be £7 for his ticket. With the savings it pretty much pays for my MR2MK1 membership :)

Thanks.

I have PM'd you my mobile number.

Jay, just follow the signs that say "Kit Cars".

This should direct you to the tunnel under McLeans corner and into the infield area. It's free for Mk1Club members but unfortunately they have been charging for passengers today, £10 for adult passengers, don't know for children.

I *may* be there early doors because I want to do a few laps in my SC, but I have a long standing family engagement at lunchtime. If I am there, hope to meet up!

Tom

PS Mk1Club stand is roughly opposite the start/finish line.

Tom you were there and you didn't come over and say hello?

I was actually working for BaT at Donny today!! We only knew about the show when some duffer wandered onto the track causing us to have to throw a red flag! I think because it was on the infield i didn't notice any cars around as such! Wouldn't have had time to pop over though unfortunately.

D'oh! Don't you read this forum or your Mk1Club magazine! :clown:

I saw J5 and Sara but didn't look for you 'cos i would have assumed you were aware of the show and would have made contact! Never mind!

What was up with the BaT Caternail? I was watching from the outside of Redgate and I've never ever seen a nail understeering so much! The slip angle on the front tyres was amazing! How he didn't end up in the gravel trap is anyone's guess (or did he?)(Or was it just the driver!)

Some of the kit cars were truly outstanding. There was a Hawke Cars Lancia Stratos replica done out in Pirelli colours. I had to stop looking at it because I was dribbling and drooling all over the bodywork! :clown:

But I'm going (or rather wanting) to buy a Marlin Motorsport 5 EXI to build.

Image

It's tiny, it's fitted with a 240bhp Honda Type-R engine and weighs 530kgs! I bored the poor woman (Teri) on the stand to death. I was hoping that I'd shown so much interest in it that they'd let me take it out for a few laps today. (Actually that was rather unlikely since it's their only Honda powered show car)

(Oh and Lauren I'm sorry about wandering across the track. I was just taking a shortcut from the outside to the infield! )

Err... nope i didn't. Probably because i was concentrating on Spa. ;)

Caternail was possibly not being driven to the highest standard. ;)

And to top that i was in nottingham today visiting friends!
