So my Rev 2 Tubby has been coughing a little in 4th & 5th and I would also say the car smells like it's running rich.
A new O2 sensor didn't cure this and then recently I got the car out from winter hibernation and the Engine management light came on.
Car seemed to run ok, here's the wired bit.
When I stick a wire in the te1 e1 diagnostic port terminals the orange light stays lit or goes very dim and also the fuel pump is cutting in and out when just the ignition is on.
I've just replaced 2 capacitors and when I plugged the ECU back it the diagnostic port worked!! And gave me a 41 code. After pulling the efi fuse and doing a ecu reset the fuel pump and port reverted back to cycling in and out with the dash light on and not displaying codes again.
Help!!
Diagnostic Port not working...??

Further wired update.
So I unplugged my ecu and left it for a couple of hours.
Plugged it back in and put it in diagnostic mode and low and behold it's working.
But this doesn't mean it's right.
Do we think the ECU is screwed?
It's throwing code 41 as well.

Re: Diagnostic Port not working...??
Well I had another look over the PCB and can't see any obvious caps that are leaking or blown.
As a check to the ones I installed I went over them again with the soldering iron.
The error 41 TPS you never believe that one of the pins in the plug had become unlocked from its housing and wasn't connected!
That error is gone now and it's not showing anything else.
I've reset the ecu and started her up with no issue but the ecu did flick on/off briefly but I need to take her out for a drive.
