Hi,
As per the title above.
Time to change my Timing belt after 6 years/80000km.
I'm happy with the water pump I put in 6 years ago from Fensport, but the price went up on it significantly (50 to 82 GBP). Its still the same brand, I asked.
Genuine from Toyota is 120GBP which again I believe is a bit too much.
Import car parts have a pump which they sell for 25GBP. I asked them and they sell it for 10+ years and comes with 2 years warranty.
Anyone got any experience with these?
Which should I get you recon? Ben also has some for 35 GBP
Thanks

Personally i'd stump up the £120 from toyota. It isn't something you'll want to have to do again and a toyota one will last for the remainder of the life of the car.

Have a look on tcbparts or give em a bell

120GBP is the price with the housing IIRC, you don't necessarily need the complete assembly.

I got a quote for 16110-79135, I'm pretty sure its only the pump.
I might try TCB, they are always very helpful. By the way I found pumps on their website for 36GBP with 1 year warranty, or the genuine for 76GBP+VAT (must have missed it on my first research)
But hold on a second. Are you saying that the waterpump should last forever? If that would be the case, I wouldn't hesitate, but as far as I know it should be changed with the timing belt. At the end of the day its a bearing just like the idler or tensioner which should be changed as well.
So most of you wouldn't trust any other brand?
Thank you

FYI the part number you quoted is the pump without cover. Complete assy with cover would be 16100-79225

I believe the cover means the housing, but I don't think I need it. That should last forever (?)
