The Snetterton video is with the NA 3SGE, and would have been K&N intake and Fujitsubo Legals R turbo backbox modified to fit an NA mid pipe

As always, the work list keeps on growing.

Booked in next month for sills / underbody maintenance repair. Hoping underbody is just surface that needs cleaning up, and then get the whole thing sealed up.

Changed the brake pads to Porterfield R4S. So far they seem excellent. Of course, I wasn't going to get away with doing any job scot-free - my rear left coilover has blown it's guts out. Never ends!

I have some polybushes to install still so I'll do them all together. Just not sure whether to rebuild the coilovers as dampers are cheap, but they have done 90k miles in all weather. Top mounts are probably well worn, spring powdercoating split off a long time ago and they're looking a bit crusty. Long term I may be better off just replacing them. :rolleyes:

Wowsers! Pretty standard for most / all MR2s now though. Keep it documented, I enjoy seeing how people tackle these as I'm sure one day I'll be in the same position.

My method is pay someone else. I'd like to learn to weld and paint but today is not that day!

Chap doing the work seems keen and the fact that he called me over (it's not far from work) before continuing to show me exactly what was needed is promising... The easy route would be to just make it look ok outside, weld it up and slap some paint on. Confident they'll do a decent job

Not yet. After being in an enclosed space with it, it started to smell pretty bad so at the moment it's in pieces, ran the base covers through the washing machine (after wet vac), and have a replacement bolster and base foam to go in.

Ah crap sorry about that, it had been stored indoors but I didn't realize it was that damp.

How hard is it to take apart? I probably could do the bottom bolster on my passenger side one.

Really easy actually, though apparently the earlier generation seats are more difficult.

Not removed the back cover, but looks like it's just zipped in. May be more to it once starting to remove that though!

gazza that rust doesnt look too bad. id have also paid someone to do it for me, but i was too broke at the time. Also nice to know ive done it properly and not bodged by the dodgy garage that did it for the previous owner.

Thanks! Feel like I have more interest in it now. The sills really let the car down.

Loads more left to do - polybush, coilover replacement, and annoyingly clutch throwout bearing, which obviously means drain the relatively new fluid, driveshafts out, transmission off. Long.

hopefully the guy has done a good job on the sill. I've had passenger side done twice and the drivers side once. Needs done again both sides. Hoping third time lucky and properly done!
