Silverstone Social Meet 19th March

I run a Classic Car Meet called Silverstone Social. All details are on the Facebook page at the moment but we will have a website soon as well. I own a MK1 MR2 and so know a few MR2 guys and as a result we attract some MR2s to our meets hence posting on here. First meet is at a pub near Silverstone but after that we have some planned at Silverstone circuit. For our first meet on 19th March I certainly know of 4 MR2's coming along so please feel free to join if your local.

The Facebook page is Silverstone social.

We have the first meet at a pub near Silverstone on March 19th. Then in May onward I am in the process of arranging the meets at the circuit. The meets will be in a car park at the circuit entrance. When the meet is finished at lunch time ish there will be an option of discounted circuit entry to go in and watch some historic racing. Might possibly be the chance of a parade lap round the circuit as well. I'm still finalising the ins and outs.

I'd like to come silverstone is close to me.. ah i see only 1997 or before.. mine isn't and MR2 and it isn't 1997..

The brief guidelines are pre 1997 but basically as long as your car is either old, interesting or rare its welcome. We had a lovely modified MR2 Roadster at the last meet which was fine and great to see. Its not an MR" meet a general car meet.

We have to put some sort of guideline up because we need to form an interesting display of cars- we dont want Tesco car park on a Saturday! Like I say as long as its something interesting then not a problem.

Thanks guys, look forward to seeing you there. We've got alot of interest from our facebook members, some interest from a few different forums plus we have a local magazine going to advertise it for us so I am expecting to fill the majority of the car park subject to weather. Should be a good one.

Sorry I wish I could post up the advert for the event with all the detail on but apparently I'm still too new to the forum and it wont let me!

What about those without an available pre-1997 car and whose car is not interesting. Is there any arrangements for those who would still wish to come along.

I have an 1988 MR2 but its not on the road as its having EXTENSIVE welding done to it and only have the daily drive which is non-descript and from 2004.
