Where to souce 2gr FE
After speaking to Paul woods I really want to do this conversion.
However where can i find this engine? any tips on how to get my hands on one?

Re: Where to souce 2gr FE
They aren't very common in the UK, I think they are in
Lotus Evora
Lexus RX350.

You want the 2GR-FE, not the 2GR-FSE.

They're a lot more plentiful in the US and if you are in a hurry that's where you look.

Re: Where to souce 2gr FE
EBay US or are there any other websites to look?
Re: Where to souce 2gr FE
There are several UK based companies who import them as brand new crate engines, and they are surprising inexpensive
(compared to what you might expect one to cost).
.
.I'll have a dig through my emails and see if I can find one of them for you, I came very close a while back.

You could try Rogue Motorsport
.
they certainly offered me one a year or so ago when I was considering keeping my old rev1 going
.
I believe they import new units from the US
.
.
Worth a shot.

Re: Where to souce 2gr FE
Also worth asking on twobrutal.co.uk if you already haven't, thats where most of us 2GRFE owners hang on, there's been a few for sale recently.

SW20 Rev1 Supercharged 2GR-FE
Powered Trackday Car.

Re: Where to souce 2gr FE
You could import a damaged car from Japan, take what you need then flick the rest.
The 2gr came in loads of cars.
Aurion, Camry, Highlander, Blade Master, Lexus ES350.

My daily driver is a Blade Master G.
Essentially an Auris with a 2gr-fe.

Re: Where to souce 2gr FE
Hi,

When I was investigating it, I was looking at DEE:-

http://www.dee-ltd.co.uk/powertrain/2gr-fe.html

Quote from the owner in 2015 was
£3,664.83 ex VAT.
for single brand new engine with ancillaries.

The can also supply new EA 60 boxes
£1,148.85 and bell housing converter

The adapter kit for the D2GR-FE would be a further
~£881.66

They do custom builds from the look of it too, with options using an Emerald K6.

I would have asked how much a non-DBW TB with around 400 hP would be but I'm sticking to the 3SGTE, cos my car is a turbo orginally and I think it's a shame to do that to a non-rusty JDM tubbie.

Plus when all is said and done the 3SGTE will be cheaper, and probably more reliable than a 2GRFE
(Not the engine, just the xxxx you get with a fairly big conversion like this puts me off).

Re: Where to souce 2gr FE
Dee-Ltd no longer sell crate engines, nor the Emerald ECU option.
And Emerald themselves won't support the 2GRFE engine, their ECU isn't powerful enough.
I spoke to Emerald and Dee-Ltd a few months back when looking for ECU options.

Damn, that's a shame! they should update their website really.

Worth trying Swindon Engines then?

I thought the unreliability of the engine had put you off
