9j eat rear wheels

Post by benjo »

Firstly looked on all Mr2 forums can't find the answer I need,
I'm looking at buying new 17" wheels I've got
8j et35 all round at moment f 215/40 r 245/40
Question is will 9j et35 with 245/40/17 go on the rear?
Cars lowered about 40mm on koni inserts
Would I need arches rolling or would they go on with no
Rubbing/catching?
Thanks

This is mine when I bought it, the rear wheels were 18"x9" +35 With 255/35R18 tyres, the arches were rolled, no rubbing but clearance was tight.

I think you might have some rubbing.

I'm running 8J et 33 rears with a 25mm spacer - 225/45/16 and they do scrub occasionally on bumpy corners etc. You could probably get away with just using some camber bolts to bring the top of the wheel in though

EDIT my wheels are sticking out about 1/2" further than you describe. Brainfart, sorry

i have 9inch rears, ET35 17's. I first put on 245x40 and they rubbed so got arches rolled. Now running 255x40 and still no rubbing. Stock suspension but sagging OEM springs lol

me? 8x17 ET35 but I wish I had something more like 7.5x17 ET25-30. 8inch front rim is wasted on our cars, stock body

it'll still work and with some suspension massaging you can fit 235x40x17 on there for good measure though I have to say 215x40 AD08 are pretty damned square on the 8inch rims I'm using :thumleft:
