3sfe to 3sge engine swap ecu fault please help.

Post by copie »

Hi guys please help with my issue. I have swapped the engine in my ST202 from a 3sfe to a 3sge rev 3 engine gearbox loom and ecu complete. Took it all out the doner car myself was running before removal. Now it's all fitted pressed the start button and it ran and then cut out

It will run for a couple of seconds and then cut out. Don't think it fuel and reving engine does not help.

I have read loads of forums and couple of post suggest the igf pin needs swapping in the ecu ?? If so where too ?? It seems like a imobliser sort of fault but there is no alarm or imobliser fitted does the rev 3 ecu have one ??

Please help many thanks

REV3 ECU does not have a immobiliser.

You need to repin the passenger side loom. Loads of threads about this on here. Easiest way was just to replace the passenger side loom as well.

I know exactly what is wrong with it, but requires an explanation over the phone, too involved to diagnose here, ring me at the garage and I will talk you through it 0191 3770962.

Alan it's an st202 not mr2, also replacing the passenger kickwell loom on an mr2 is not the right way to do it sir.
