Hi all
I'm having my car rebuilt now and I'm looking at anything between 400/500bhp, what clutches are recommended nowadays, been out of the scene for too long and lost touch with stuff.
I don't want a clutch the is like a switch to use, I still want to use my car as a road car, but appreciate it'll be a bit more work than a stock one.
Thanks in advance
I had an rps Street max clutch that was awful, had an overdevelopment left calf muscle after that lol
Then had an ACT clutch that was lovely to use but slipped when going for 550 with my gt3582r,
THEN had an OS GIKEN clutch r2cd ( or was it r2d2 lol) but that was so easy use and to drive, and handled the 550 no problem. No slipping and very stock feel and no left leg pain
Hth

can't comment from personal experience but nobody ever says anything bad about OS giken, Ogura, Exedy
funnily enough I watched this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6fXZcGJ6hBI
the other day, that OS Giken Street Master clutch looks like a really nice bit of kit

OS giken r2cd
Greenline motorsports sorted me out one earlier this year direct from Japan.
You are talking about a clutch and flywheel kit into the 4 digit range though but it is one of the best options available for our cars in terms of the huge power it can take and driveabilty.

+1 and agree with others on the OS Giken clutch. Best clutch I ever had installed and still running in my old beast when I sold her to Shane34

omg Doeboy you're still around. show some pictures of your car You were like MR2 royalty back in the day
Odin_s....still got the old girl, been off the road since September 2011 when a ringland let go on the way back from Jae.
Will get some pics up when she is done, I have some now shoes for her aswell
It seems the OS giken is pretty much common practice in big builds, I have the R2CD on mines and it's great so another vote from me.
I had an ACT 6puck (good for 500lbft/500HPon a previous build but unfortunately never got to test it with big power, however felt almost stock feeling to drive with on the power I did have it which would of been 250ish HP
Os giken seem to be the best overall...
I have a carbonetic clutch maybe abit OTT considering the power it can holdt its quite noisey and exspensive but I love it...
I use it for street use mainly... not too heavy but far better then most powerful clutches that feel like your having a 500kg gym session with your legs

If a damper clutch should engage gears smoothly, and non-damper clutches are recommended for drag applications... Why the OS Giken STR2C (Intended for street usage and track occasionally) is non damper?
